  1. I normally delete tuning information but I'll leave this one up. I'd rather fling my own shit, at a rabbit, than butcher an air rifle like that.
  2. This is long overdue so I thought I'd have a crack at it. I've put together an FAQ and if you think I've missed anything just add a reply to the thread so I can update the list. You'll be credited at the bottom. Okay. So You Want To Buy Your First Air Rifle. Step 1. Hit the New Topic option. This will start a new topic and will direct our members to your request. Step 2. In the topic heading, tell us that you're looking for help. This will ensure that your questions aren't overlooked. Step 3. Tell us how much you're willing to spend on your rifle set up. If you're budget is less t
  3. The vast majority of rifles, on the market, are more than suitable for your aims. All you have to ask yourself, at this stage, is how much you're willing spend on a rifle set up. What is your budget? Alot depends on where you live. If you're in England, Scotland, Wales you will be able to buy a sub 12ft/lbs air rifle from any decent gunsmith. Anything that is capable of exceeding the 12ft/lbs limit will require a Firearms Certificate (FAC) and will involve an application to your local police. If you live in Ireland, north or south, my understanding is that you need an FAC for any air
  4. Welcome jgc410! Have a look in the shooting forums! There's loads of advice in there!
  5. I'll bump this up as a sticky for a while so everyone can read it. I'll leave it up until everything is fixed. Let us know as soon as it's sorted so we can remove the announcement. Thanks
  6. Nice one Coney! How are you finding the HW100? Shots per charge, pellet choice etc... Give us some feedback, you write some great posts and I'm sure the members would love to read a rifle review, from you. Alot of people are looking at this rifle and this might be just what they need to get stuck into one!
  7. S.A.C.S and BASC are adequate coverage. Not sure about SACS but BASC insurance stipulates that you're only covered if you're operating as an amateur. Meaning that if you're charging for vermin control then you're not covered.
  8. The ironic part of this is that these serial dumpers think we're cruel for controlling rabbits in the first place.
  9. Strange that. Passwords are case sensitive though, so that may be a factor. Also what gear are you using? If it's Netgear I may be able to help further.
  10. Sounds like a bargain. I presume it's in good nick? How about some photos?
  11. Try leaving the window open, overnight, or get up earlier...
  12. When you set your wireless, did you encrypt it like they recommend? Meaning enter a password so that other people can't use your wireless? If so when they ask for the WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) that will be what you type in. If you're with Sky, for example, it'll be stamped on the back of the router. If it's low signal you might have to wait until it isn't.
  13. So what's the best round/load for cat?
  14. f****n hell... another industry f****d! I'll paddle a canoe instead... and I'll make sure it wasn't built by Camel Laird.
  15. Don't sit on the fence, Ditch. Behind you 100%. If you're one of those cat loving anti w***ers, lurking on here, make sure pussums is locked up for the evening.
  16. I can see both sides to this argument. I can understand totally why people wouldn't want to give away the secrets of their trade and I can also see why a common sense price structure allows people to give a reasonable account of their time. Like most people here I started off as a sportsmen. As my experience grew I began to learn new methods. Many learned, for free, by those keen to pass on their knowledge. Many paid for out of my own pocket. Enough time has passed for me to make a living out of it. Do I worry about people trying to come in and undercut me? No. I charge a fair pric
  17. Nice one!! One down, several billion to go!
  18. It's gonna be something in second hand for that money... Whatever you decide on, make sure it's mechanically sound even if doesn't look so great. Get it chronographed too, to make sure it's legal or not stupidly underpowered.
  19. Sounds very anti hunt. Nothing wrong with hunting as it's where the bulk of their precious rifles end up. It's pretty sad when you think about it... they've managed to divide the airgun community into target shooters and hunters... What happens when they try to restrict pest control with airguns? You'll get... 'I'm alright mate, I only shoot target, doesn't effect me' Nice Everyone's welcome on here... we want to see pictures of your target groupings AND dead things!
  20. Win, lose, or draw, we try to strike the balance between legal forum and a free for all. With around 10,000 members this tends to piss people off and draw applause in equal amounts. Luckily most of us mods have been here long enough to not really give a f**k when people start giving abuse. There's a guideline at the top of the forum and it's pretty basic. It's amounts to keep it legal and don't take the piss out of anyone because they do it different. As a result this airgun forum is pleasure to read and it's always nice to see people getting out and doing a bit whether they've just
  21. HW100 for me, every time. Have a look at some of the other threads... alot here shoot with both guns and will be able to tell you about it.
