Is it the BSA 10 shot magazine, that's used on the Super Ten?

Depends how your gun shoots with your choice of pellet. For general hunting a round headed pellet, is considered better, because it's more 'ballistically efficient.' That's one for the wordsmiths. But how does that shoot in your gun? Who knows unless you've tried it. My general purpose, sit in the van, opportunity rifle is the Webley Stingray Deluxe model, in .22. I've found it shoots best with RWS Super H-Points. So I have 6 tins of RWS Super H-Points in the van. I can churn out accurate shots at a consistency, and distance, I can live with. I used to use 1 part kebab meat, 1 part loose wheat, 2 parts used frying oil (kebab juice) and 4 parts strawberry syrup. Blend until it becomes a thick paste. Add warm water if you need to because it can get like concrete. Used to use it in areas set up for shooting. Clear view with a backstop etc... pre-bait for a few days first. Also used to smear it on traps. Had good results and still use it for big trapping jobs when other stuff isn't working. Most times, now, I just bromadiolone because I want them dead. The best spring pistol on the market is the Weihrauch HW45. I've used one, for many years, for dispatching animals in cage traps, as part of my daily pest control obligations. Pistol power limit is 6ft/lbs so distance and accuracy is down to the shooter. This would be a far more consistent, and better made alternative, to a Crosman Ratcatcher, IMHO.

I take the business of killing things very seriously and I'm sorry if this sounds blunt but I don't think someone should even pick up a rifle if they don't know what quarry and chronograph mean and then proceed to start on live game. That's not going to sit well with people but what's the point of an opinion board if you can't have one? Nobody kills everything 100% of the time. Those that say so are liars. I'm sure that someone with far more experience, than I, would step up and give you some tips on preparing pelts. One thing I will say, though, is next time you go hunting make sure you have a rifle that will ensure a clean kill. You owe it to your quarry. If you can't chronograph it, to make sure it's of sufficient power to kill outright, then stick to paper targets and tin cans.

Moved as requested. It's interesting to see that... and I always cringe when I see people paying top whack for rusty rifles. I know everyone's looking for a bargain but this is an A1 visual example of why you should buy all charging equipment with a valid test certificate and steer clear of amateur butchers who could put your life at risk.

Agreed. Would anyone hazard a guess as to what the most common weapon of assault, is, in Britian? Answer? The pint pot. In a 2000 study, by New Scientist, on alcohol it came back as a staggering 81%. The law states that it can't exceed 12ft/lbs with any pellet. Lancs Police carried Combro chronographs and used Accupells last time I was tested.

This will be unpopular but I believe that airguns should be on ticket. Something similar to a shotgun for sub 12ft/lbs and no change for FAC. But how will any new law remove the massive amounts of airguns already in circulation? Anyone remember the Brocock ban? A law that shoved firearms underground in a way not seen since Dunblane! I agree that if existing laws are enforced that it would make a difference. But they're not, and anything that can be done to get the average w*n*er to not have one has to be encouraged, in my opinion. You only have to look at some of the dumb f*** posts that

No worries then. You can buy over the counter or face to face from pretty much anywhere. Sounds about right. There are some great bargains around but also alot of shit, for that kind of money. Be wary of where you get it from. Always check it out first. Great choice. Also consider the Webley Stingray, a superb and extremely under rated rifle. Check out the BSA Lightning as well. If you saved another £50 or long enough to reach the £200 bracket then your choice of rifle, and quality, would increase many, many times! Good luck and let us know how you get on!

I agree with the above, upto 40. Fieldcraft is your best tool. Everyone tends to measure their skill by how far away they can hit things. I like to look at how close you can get.
