  1. Very. Silencer helped but it was still loud. I think air rifle tuning isn't about practicality it's about eccentricity. Especially in the UK. My Rapid is a great piece of engineering but because it does 60ft/lbs people say 'Why didn't you buy a rimfire.' Because I wanted an air rifle that I could put on FAC. If I want a rimfire I'll buy one! The thing with Korean air rifles is that they're made in a market where rimfires and centerfires can't be legally held. So they do the best they can with the practical tools available. It's not reinventing the wheel it's finding loopholes i
  2. Which ones? The ones that posted bad things against you, or the snitches that say you're not who you say you are and that you're using multiple accounts? Either way you know I'm not going to tell you but it should serve as a warning to the dangers of using internet forums, and working on the basis of trust before actual credibility.
  3. Mainly years of experience but, in this case, because you're telling me one thing and telling other members something else. Or at least what someone else using your account is telling other members of the forum. So you either have schizophrenia or a major security issue. No worries, though, mate. You crack on. I have no issue either way but to keep this thread on topic I deleted the picture to some of the comments made at you. Not by you. You know how these things get out of hand when opinions differ and you know that it won't fly in this particular section of THL. If people want to
  4. I accept that mailing rifles isn't an issue it's the potential legal issues that come from bringing it up on the forum, with regard to what the legal definition of a firearms dealer is. I'm currently seeking legal advice to who can sell what, as it could have serious repercussions for the forum, with regard to people selling air rifles. I just don't want anyone to accidentally incriminate themselves, unknowingly, with the amount of police there are trawling the place.
  5. If you're not Busa then why are you using his Photobucket account to host your pictures? I don't mind either way but if we're all going to be on the level let's at least be consistent. I mean if this competition is going to have any kind of credibility we need to be open and honest. It's the decent thing to do.
  6. Busa. It was pulled due to some of the content of the replies. Not that I have to give you reason but it wasn't your post it was the inevitable responses that came back from it.
  7. Here is the most concise link I can find on the game seasons. It was posted on the forum but I can't find who to give the correct credit. Please study it before you post your hunting pictures on the forum. Please Click For Shooting Seasons, And Quarry, For England, Wales, Northern Ireland, And Scotland This has been a public service announcement.
  8. I've seen the Shun Sung go out to just under 200ft/lbs but 720 ups the bar considerably.
  9. I accept that it's just for fun and I have no issue with it. However I've moddied on this site for nearly 5 years. Only today I've removed a post on night shot gamebirds, a thread that's been hijacked by someone disagreeing with shot hares, and open references to poaching. To think that everyone understands is pretty naive. I'd like to think that everyone will play fair but experience tells me otherwise. Good luck with the comp but anything that turns it into a slanging match and/or legal mine field, will be deleted. You be surprised. I know a gentlemen who's had his pictures
  10. I moved this from the FAQ's to the main forum, as you'll probably get more of a response.
  11. In theory it sounds alright but how do you judge the entries? Also such a competition couldn't include any game birds because they're all currently out of season. I'm alright with it providing it complies with the rules of the forum but if you're relying on people's sporting honour, to submit entries, then it's doomed to failure. Err... no. How will you differentiate between wild and urban from a camera phone picture? It won't matter if the quarry list is small game. They should all be legal quarry allowed to be taken all year. Besides how do you tell from a cam
  12. Yes. Yes. With limited power comes limited range so they're only capable of short range shooting. Dispatching animals in traps, is the recommended use but I've seen them used as credible hunting tools, in the right hands.
  13. Generation Kill is the film, about the book. US Marines in Iraq. If it's half as good as the book it should be fine viewing. If you're not happy about the idea, just don't watch it... no need to destroy the thread.
  14. I'm sorry fellas. I'm going to have to remove posts in this topic while I attempt to decipher the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006. My current interpretation was that the sale of second hand air rifles, was fine, but I may well be wrong. It may be limited to RFD's (Registered Firearms Dealers). I'll replace the posts, in this topic, when I have more information.
  15. It's about personal preference with these rifles. It's Land Rover Defender Vs Mercedes G Wagon. Both are top of the line out of the box and it all comes down to which one you personally prefer.
  16. The Mirror's stance on foxhunting was class based. End of.
  17. Monster rifle! Why did you sell it? Just fancied a change?
  18. It always is about who pulls the trigger. B2 = Thirty Five Quid HW97 = Three Hundred and Thirty Five Quid HW100 = Seven Hundred Quid. I believe that the HW97 is three hundred pounds better than the B2. I also believe that HW100 is three hundred and sixty pounds better than the HW97, and six hundred and sixty five pounds better than the B2. Is that any clearer?
  19. I liked the Career but it was better in FAC than sub 12. That's the Korean's for you. .25 was fine in FAC, IMHO.
  20. I've pinned this for you. Keep us posted with further developments.
  21. The B2 is a piece of shit whichever way you call it. As for the Rapid... I'm an eccentric and I wanted to see how usable something like that is. I could've got a rimmy, but I could've got Ford Focus as well. I settled on an old 87 Range Rover with a leaky roof. It's the same with airguns though. All can be made to go over the limit because they're sold in places that aren't subject to British law. You can tune the majority of guns over the 12 limit but our laws state that you need to be punished, harsher than a speeder, if you don't have the right paperwork. Will they kill more?
  22. I knew you would. Excellent response, Mr Darcy.
  23. For the US market Shin Sung have The Dragon Slayer. It's .50cal and will pump out around 190ft/lbs. There's pictures, and videos, on the Internet of them taking 300lbs wild boar and similar distances to what we would take rabbit. I've never even researched the possibility of having them over here. I sincerely doubt it though, unless anyone has one? If it's dropping them with head shots who's to argue whether it's right or wrong?
