  1. Yes i remember you....cant quite remember what i remember....but i remember the name ...hope your keeping well
  2. One of my favorite fighters ever Randy Turpin,my old dad would tell us stories about him,how he was way ahead of his time....The Leamington Licker .....with a bit more knowledge and dedication to the sport he could have been one of the greats.....shame the way he ended up.
  3. Just to note....Alan Sugar was the only one who ever made money from owning a football club ! When folk talk about Ashley and the like they need to blame the club not the owner....nobody forced the powers that be to sell Newcastle to Ashley or Chelsea to Abramavich etc etc.....you cant sell somebody something and then moan when they do what they want with their own property ! That said i honestly believe Ashley will ultimately do good for the club, after all....if it wasnt for him they possibly would have been in administration by now....something the everyday football fan understandably f
  4. I did ? ...its possible im a generous chap like that just dont recognise your name. All things considered Holyfield was a great fighter, unfortunately his weight was against him he wasnt really big enough for the heavyweight division but there was no money at cruiserweight....his best fights in my opinion were at light heavyweight....great fights he had with Dwight Qawi,Saad Muhammed etc etc that will be forgotten because he will be remembered as a heavyweight.....Very crisp and clean puncher in his day, could take a great shot and was an intelligent boxer.....career just went on a littl
  5. Id go as far as to say Frazier was possibly the gamest heavyweight fighter who ever lived....the systematic beating he took in that fight coupled with his fighting style meant only the very gamest of characters could or would have kept walking forward in that fight.Frazier only knew one way to fight so whether things went his way or not he stuck to what he was good at most often he wore people down and it paid off,a few times it didnt.....unfortunately i dont think he was ever the most pleasant of individuals and im told he,s a bitter old man today.Still detests Ali,apparently whenever Ali,s p
  6. What makes you think Martin o Neil would take the job.....Pardew is a scrapper,id love him back at West Ham....Chris Hughton seemed to be the players friend !....in a tough relegation battle you want a manager whos going to get stuck into the players not be their friend and rub their belly surely !
  7. He understands the buiseness of football.....he could obviously see what Newcastle fans couldnt and thats the reality that they are highly likely to be in a tough relegation battle, something Hughton has no experience of.....if they were to go down thats the first thing Newcastle would be saying " why didnt he bring in an experienced manager "....he doesnt make these decisions on his own same as any other club...but naturally his buiseness interests have to be taken into account as well.....he didnt go from nothing to being a billionaire by making bad choices, might not be popular choices but he
  8. While i agree with all you say about Ali.....i actually believe Tyson is quite a respectful guy towards other boxers,at least he is now his careers over !....i wouldnt say he sucked up to Ali,or Lewis for that matter he just realised he wasnt in their league when it came to boxing...Tyson is a great student of boxing and has a very good knowledge of all the old time fighters....before the height of his career.....and after his career he has been a decent guy,it was just while he was at the top or near the top he was a complete prick ! Ali would have played with him for as long as he wanted. It
  9. Not during his boxing career he didnt,he was a very healthy living fella and a great trainer.....what he did after his career was over, who cares.....smokey clubs he was a dj for a while i would imagine they go hand in hand.
  10. " had he lived a cleaner life " ...whats that supposed to mean ....Benn was one of the most dedicated and best trainers in the game,no doubt his army background helped but he was a great athlete who always came into the ring in fantastic condition. Eubank had his number....simple.
  11. ...no...walking was very new to me in 1962
  12. You say that but any old prat could have got Newcastle back up into the premiership with that squad.....i think the Newcastle fans are getting too carried away with where they are in the league and the good result against Sunderland its like its carrying you along on the crest of a wave....but the reality is Hughton is not a proven premiership manager,Newcastle might be 11th but they are 4 points away from the relegation zone theres still every chance they will be in a relegation battle come march !....Love or hate him Freddie Shepherd came out today and said Ashley has done the right thing.
  13. Apparently Blatter has today called the English " bad losers "....cheeky c**t ! He reckons we should be more understanding of how football MUST be " introduced " to different areas of the world and how the meaning of taking it to these places go,s " beyond sport " Like i said....high profile charity work at the expense of the worlds most popular sport !
  14. Both as important as each other.
  15. Not for me.....for me " a working dog " is bred to do his job......guide dogs/sniffer/rescue etc.....smart animals and every respect to them but their not working dogs as they were not bred specifically for the job......utility dogs yes, working dogs no.
  16. Got to be Ali for me.....Terry Downes beat Robinson on points in 62,i only know that because a few local fighters were on the undercard who when i was growing up would tell anyone who was willing to listen....and back then i soaked up info like a sponge
  17. Absolutely hilarious especially the " id f*****g sort out my own back yard before bla bla bla ".......this is a Scot discussing,no actually,obssessing......over English football Talk about poisonous.....do you spend your entire life spitting and throwing darts at pictures of English footballers ....sad.
  18. With that in mind.....are guide dogs for the blind working dogs then ?
  19. Second greatest fighter who ever lived in my opinion,Robinson.....but.....he did lose to our Terry Downes in London
  20. Course he would have lost out,he cleared the clubs debts only to see them in the second tier of English football, having sold the club then he would have lost millions.....he stuck with it and now look what they are worth again..... Its like any buiseness its a risk and timing is everything....he,s not a fantastic buisenessman for nothing and now he,s in a great position again,he obviously had faith in his investment and fair play to him....the fact Hughton has now been outed suggests to me he,s playing with a double or quits mentality.
  21. If your talking about the theory of breeding then you can change 1 pure breed into a completely different breed within 6 generations.....or to the point where the % of the pure breed drops below 1% which is 6 generations....but the reality of the animals in front of you is that it takes a lot more than that.....and thats from a purebred dog......if you are inbreeding off crossbred dogs you can safely double that whereby 2 littermates can be virtually genetically unrelated due to the way genes fall. It really all depends on the breeding of the foundation dogs you are using as to how long be
  22. Billionaire buiseness men dont make decisions like that just to piss people off mate.....he stayed because he would have lost a lot of money,as it turns out his gamble paid off....he could sell the club now and break even but it looks like he,s about to take another gamble and go for a profit....you gotta admire that.
  23. Bummer, could do with him back down the Hammers......what about giving Alan Shearer another go
  24. Well sorry ol son,to people mad into football the world does revolve around it,the fact that so many people feel this way about the game maybe indicates that its you who is different not us ! Its real simple when you think about it.....i dont like playing about in the mud with bikes so guess what,i dont talk about it......if you dont like football...............
  25. Because most of Russia is a third world country and are one of the most high crime/racist and most corrupt countries in the world.....As for the " the only c**ts with football stadiums "....Qatar have none ! England have the biggest football following, the most passionate supporters, the greatest stadiums, the most popular and watched league worldwide....not only that we could stage the tournament tomorrow........... But no,football has become another charity,a way to help out the poor nations like South Africa....Russia at the expense of football....and a way of putting a country like Qatar
