  1. Hold back hold back I was only messing.....i dont have the foggiest idea about politics or what he has or hasnt done i havent paid much attention to be honest.....so your probably right........................I just thought he was a cracking athlete..........anything beyond that im in the dark. The Excel eh.......Canning Town you should get yourself over to the Peacock or Trad while your there plenty of talent and history in them gyms......you,ll probably drive past Beckton ski slope as well you,ll be able to see the top from the a13.......did most of our hill runs there back years ago...
  2. Pip if i was advising him id be saying to have a good rest from boxing......he,s had a lot of fights some of them fairly tough battles in a short space of time, the way he,s going now he,s going to be washed up by 27 !..........Have a rest go on holiday do whatever he does......then in a years time settle back into a routine have a few confidence building fights then hopefully challenge for a title...........as an example every time Frank Brunos wheels came off he would have a couple of confidence building fights before a title eliminator.....3 or 4 times that happened and he got their in the e
  3. Just out of interest where is the boxing being held ?......... And how can you knock Seb Coe.....a great athlete like thats entitled to the occasional political f**k up if you ask me

    Anyone

Apart from the fact thats a fraction not a percentage...................how could you possibly come to the conclusion theres more greyhound than bull
  5. If you have a quitting mentality then thats you.....................but dont have a go at people who dont have that mentality. If everyone with faults packed their sport in because they couldnt reach the top what a gutless bunch we would all be ! It's not about quitting, he doesn't quit but he can't go on ! He's got heart and he will get back up but once he's had one whack that's the end of his fight he can't recover from getting caught never has never will. He will only ever be able to fight average fighters because the top ones will know it only takes one punch and the fights there's

    Anyone

Percentage wise......its 68% Bull 31 % Grey Nobody uses the 0.5 hence why it only adds up to 99.......you always knock the 0.5 off not add it on......... How we used to do it with the bulldogs years ago anyway
  7. I think Khans entitled to be priority he,s fighting at the highest level....but he knew what he was going into when he joined Roach.... Tactically Khan cant complain,if Roach told him to clinch and hold out the round, but he chose to open up then its his own fault for not listening to his corner. I always thought somebody like Manny Steward would better suit Khan......Manny is more of a people person than Roach.....Roach is like an engine tuner he can get the very best out of what a car has to offer.....but Manny can connect with a fighters mind and get the best out of him that way..... For
  8. If you have a quitting mentality then thats you.....................but dont have a go at people who dont have that mentality. If everyone with faults packed their sport in because they couldnt reach the top what a gutless bunch we would all be !
  9. No not him mate..... It was bugging me so i checked.......This kid,Adam Gemili.......Article says he will be competing so,good luck to him. http://www.bbc.co.uk...letics/18780238
  10. I think that will be a great fight.....for me its the most anticipated fight in years as ive watched the Mitchell boys grow up from kids and Kevin is a lad i genuinely like as a fighter and as a human being he has a great honesty about him and has dedicated himself over the last year......its no secret he likes a beer but he,s realised he has probably 5 years left to secure a future financially and is desperate to utilise the talent god gave him and i admire that.............i speak with him most weeks and he,s totally commited to this fight .......and he,ll need to be as Ricky Burns is a figh
  11. i was half way across a field & i took them at 250 mm i used a canon 1000d Thankyou
  12. Your right.....i was nowhere near sweet enough to pull that one off ............call a man sugar round here your likely to get your head caved in !
  13. Thats it Bird yes,not even that.....his best weight was probably welterweight ( 10 st 7 ).......as an example of his ability.....Jake La Motta was regarded as one of the physically toughest fighters of all time and was a natural middleweight.....Robinson had 6 fights with him winning 5 giving weight in every fight....... I remember the ol man telling me a story how in the 40,s Ray Robinson lost a fight to La Motta in early February at 160 lb......he came down to 147lb to win a fight in mid February........then went back up to 160 lb to win the return with La Motta at the end of Febraury !!!!.
  14. Wont our young kid i forget his name now the one who recently won the junior worlds be running against Bolt and the like.....think he did 10.05 the other week which i know wont get him in the medals but might get him in the final ?.......Played footie for Dagenham & Redbridge and only been a sprinter for a year or so....his name escapes me now. Some athlete that Bolt...im inclined to agree with Born Hunter.....the top athletes at the highest level of any sport want to peak for the big competition and peaking is all about timing.....so i wouldnt pay much attention to races he might of lost
  15. Dont stress over it mate........like i said,you explained....i accepted.....done and dusted.
  16. Bird i wouldnt argue with anyone who said Ali was the greatest fighter of all time............but for me it would have to be Sugar Ray Robinson, the achievements he made over the time he fought in such a strong era,200 fights, unbelievable wars with some of the biggest names of the sport from lightweight all the way up to light heavyweight.......Robinson all day long.......thats without the fact my father who was a good fighter himself named me after him and drilled it into me from an early age " there will never be a better fighter than Ray Robinson " ......i just never forgot them words and a
  17. 100 pound isnt the issue mate.... its the principal.........i paid it when i realised you hadnt.......but forget about it now IF you thought youd had me over you now know you didnt and thats good enough for me....you say you forgot and i accept that we,ll leave it there.
  18. Well i think that went completely over your head.....either that or your choosing to ignore it.....................................................ive bitten my tongue about this for over a year but think this is as good a time as any....however i,ll show you the dignity you didnt show me.....and pm you about it instead of airing dirty laundry.
  19. Stig.....im just a bashed up old fighter that never quite made it but who still has a love for the game......a few stories and a lot of memories dont warrant a book......and i certainly dont consider myself knowledgable enough on any subject to think folk would want to read my boring mad ramblings
  20. You got me there mate....no idea sorry.
  21. I dont see anything wrong with that......we all have daft unrealistic hopes for our clubs thats part of being a fan................yes every year we hear Liverpool fans saying they are going to win the league etc.......but every year i say West Ham will get into Europe .....every year Arsenal fans say they will win a trophy......every year Spurs fans say they will finish above Arsenal................................none of it ever happens, and thats what makes being a football fan great we all have different unrealistic dreams that will never happen........to me Liverpool just seem like an eas
  22. Well i went to the 02 to see The Wanted a few months back....beat that !...........Wasnt even my daughter it was a mates twins...............nice looking lad that Max
  23. Gonetoearth....if i took your humour in the wrong way i apologise......i find your views on boxing very naive sometimes....ive met a lot of people like you who have these idealistic views from the amateurs who pop their head round the corner every now and then to have a dig at the pro game......Tony Burns has been like it 40 years and ive never managed to get on with him either !!......Boxing is not like football......football is exactly the same game amateur or pro......boxing is a totally different game from amateur to pro the first thing most pro trainers have to do is get a kid out of his
  24. Says a man who rates Shea Neary and Paul Hodgkinson greats .................stick to your magazines and videos if you need to start getting stroppy....either that or try the pro scene instead of the hobbyists scene ...with all due respect like.
  25. ......I understand loyalty to your area......im exactly the same.....but come on,Shea Neary,Hodgkinson and Holligan on a list of " great " fighters ................my ol mucker Dennis Andries had possibly the best chin ive ever seen or felt on a fighter past or present.....but i certainly wouldnt call him a " great "..... Listing little flyweights from the 60,s nobodies ever heard of in your list of greats dont make for great conversation so that kind of puts a full stop to that as ive never looked at the boxing mags so wont be able to recall as many as you As for Frank Warren.....ive said
