    Sky Plus

Just asked the mrs we pay 108 apparently but thats for the phone as well,a couple of boxes, espn and whatever the other sports channels are called...........i heard BT are about to put in a big challenge to sky as regards sport over the next few years..........where you cant get just the sport with sky you will be able to with BT......which i think will go down well.
  2. Must admit it makes me very jealous listening to all these childood stories........dont think i even saw a tree till my mid twenties and certainly didnt have the finesse to climb one
  3. Really.....whys that because he,s lost fights ?...........Not everyone is petrified of being beaten mate i thought you " i,ll fight yer for it " travelling boys would understand that ................you never heard the saying " you gain more from 1 hard loss than you gain from 3 easy victories " All protecting an unbeaten record does is create false hope leading to false belief leading to false expectations leading to.........................disappointment !.....just ask David Price and whats all the " i aint biting " all about ....its a conversation mate not a personal duel what you so
  4. When i was younger i was a big Ali fan i used to argue with my ol fella he would say " Ray Robinson is the greatest fighter who ever lived " i would say " no Ali is better "..................over the years having studied Robinson, his fights, his opponents everything..........i now have no doubt at all my ol fella was right all along ..........logically speaking, there could never be another fighter who could ever measure up to Robinson as an athlete and a fighter. I have watched as many fights as i could and read everything i could on the man a amazing boxer and athlete as you say.my old man
  5. Fulham in West London you mean ....With all due respect mate i was born in the next street to Vallance Rd...my ol fella was well known in the area due to his sporting career and so knew a lot of things most didnt...............so i,ll use common sense and take his word and many of the other respected ol boys of the area in that era who lived around, drunk around well known faces of the day .....rather than folk of a different generation who have more than likely never even been to London ! As regards Italian mafia gangs or people meeting in Yorkshire i have absolutely no idea..............or

  7. Stone me what an outburst !.........Loyalty to your man is perfectly understandable....but loyalty should never get in the way of common sense.....Brookie,the fella just asked a few awkward questions thats all if you truly believe in your man then why would you pick the ball up and run home with it in a tantrum rather than just explain your logic ..............Personally i hope Fury can win a world title and defend it 20 times, same as i hope Price,Towers or any other Brit could do the same..................i dont think any of them would of been anything more than British title level years ago
  8. I actually think the man who could surprise a few heavyweights is Derek Chisora...............ok he,s lost 4 of his last 5 fights but 3 were to world champions and the only one he lost badly to was Haye.....Klitchsko he pushed hard,Helenius i think he won............of all the British heavyweights,Derek has been in with far better than any of the others and he,s still not even had 20 fights yet the experience he,s getting and his willingness to fight anyone without fearing a loss like the other guys could stand him in good stead down the line...................and a dedicated fully in tune Chi
  9. I wouldnt mind betting Crolla is feeling a bit gutted today in a 12 round fight you never want to end with something left in the tank and he looked like he had plenty more like you say if he,d upped the pace earlier.....
  10. I never saw the first fight but been told it was a cracker.......its often the way in rematches though.
  11. Absolutely right........i think his temperament is his only weakness because he does the basics very well and looks technically good................he just seems too wrapped up in puffing his chest out you cant go in a ring with all that emotion and expect it to not affect your performance.....even after the fight he broke the unwritten rule of repeating what the opponents trainer said to him thats been a no no since time began....but again his ego constantly gets the better of him........for a 29 year old whatever he is its a worry that he hasnt matured yet but hopefully he,ll learn from mist
  12. There you go.................apart from the old Mafia boys sitting drinking their coffee id say the only real true Gangsters are CI5,the old national crime squads etc...........Organised corruption with a green light will always prove more succesful than a gang of men breaking the law !
  13. I was talking about England not Italy.....yes id imagine the Italian mafia did that......but not in little old London .............yes people got killed, but not for being grasses............." The Krays murdered those who were seen talking to the police " ............Think your getting a little bit carried away there mate.
  14. Brookie ive got no loyalty to Haye whatsoever the mans a south Londoner and a Millwall fan id be rooting for your man if anything ..........Im just saying what i see....you say Fury has seen world quality and ability before, but where ?.....certainly not in a competetive fight he hasnt. You cant always compare records and opponents if it was that easy we could just sit and say well ok Haye has won world titles at 2 weights and Fury has never fought a top 15 opponent...........but Fury cant be underestimated like that he,s a big strong awkward and hungry opponent who Haye would have to take s
  15. I thought Matthews/Crolla showed each other too much respect the fight didnt get going till about the 9th round.....thought Crolla deserved the nod though. I dont see what Bellew had to moan about he won the first half of the fight and lost the second just because your at home dont mean you deserve the win......i think he needs to spend a little less time with all the childish staring and sillyness.....top level fighters are not going to be intimidated by a man looking at them, especially one that looks like nookie bear he just embarasses himself.
  16. Brookie i understand your loyalties and id be the same so im not knocking it..................but what possible reason is there to think Tyson Fury would " destroy Haye " as you put it..............Fury isnt a concussive puncher, doesnt possess great speed........and Haye is a seasoned pro used to being in with huge guys. I think Furys sheer unorthodox awkward style and workrate could cause Haye problems........but at this stage of his career he would be seeing speed angles and movement he,s never seen before i think Haye would get him out fairly early.
  17. Great fight....remember it like it was yesterday.........they were the days when a British Title eliminator meant something !
  18. For the sheer magnitude of the event for me Hagler/Hearns would have to go down as the greatest fight certainly in our lifetimes.............very rarely do the " superfights " that come around once in every generation live up to the hype...................ive always felt Hagler came out with the intentions of having a cagey chessmatch but when Hearns put it on him he couldnt help his own natural urge to stand and have it with him......which again for such a big fight dont happen often.
  19. You might enjoy this then Gnasher - Jerry Quarry vs Jack Bodell 1972 Very underated fighter Jerry Quarry....any other era than the one he fought in he,d of been a world champion....... I used to love sitting watching them old fights i actually prefer the 50,s generation i could sit watching the Robinson/Lamotta,Robinson/Basilio bouts over and over..........infact any fight with Ray Robinson in really
  20. Ive never seen that clip before its good to watch simpy because i remember how out of shape he was.......but if you look at the last few minutes where he,s just moving around shadow boxing.......his footwork and upper body movement are something else so smooth.....
  21. i'm sure they left 'normal people' alone - but individuals at the bottom of their food chain didn't, the street corner dealer, the twoccer, the pimp - they can't operate on peoples turf without permission In the Krays times if you was " at it " so to speak.......regardless what crime it was you would rather get caught by the police than get caught by them........simply because if they wasnt getting a cut of what you made you was bang in trouble..........call it street justice, caught it urban policing.....call it what you like it worked.............if you was a straight living normal every
  22. I dont like Jack Bodell.....he finished the career of the local hero Billy Walker
  23. 6 months or so before that fight must of been late ,s Duran was in London i watched him spar Nigel Benn..........Duran was out of shape and flabby,Benn hadnt won a title yet but was in great nick as he had a fight coming up.........it was only a light spar but Duran made him look silly in parts his sheer ability and movement was unbelievable......as you say at 37 !! Duran sparring with Nigel Benn - Not the best quality but better than nothing... Blimey...i didnt know there was footage of that....just shows aint no secrets these days
  24. Im going to have one last try before i give up A dogmans subject is dogs A man who go,s to gyms subject is fitness A man who tinkers with cars in a garage subject is cars What is a gangsters subject ? I say again, the majority of people who use terms like " gangsters " are impressionable youngsters who have watched films and read books and think its " cool ".
  25. Haye Price Fury Towers Sprott Now Chisorsa,s got his licence back it will soon be 6 I cant get over the size of these lads....18 years old .............These boys have got so much there to work with it really will be a tragedy if neither of them end up with proper proven world class boxing trainers !
