A lot of the chaps who were busy in that era actually came out of the same school let alone the same area St Bonaventures was just up the top of Green Street well it still is a lot of those old boys wouldnt trust each other if they was from a rival school you would often hear them " are you a St B,s boy "....." yeah your alright " ......we used to say you did maths,pe and crime at that school.

Raquels now there was a shit hole,that and Jets in Southend and a few others that slip my mind the doors were all run by the same little mob who were all owned by the same big mob.......from Canning Town through Dagenham out to Southend the dough all ended up in the same pockets and to this day never had a finger pointed at them which is the difference between people who keep their nut down and earn dough and those who want to run about shouting their mouths off.....only in my opinion of course. I (and most others in that area) would have only known about the locals mate, I didn't get involved

Thats probably because he was seeing a lot of things that perhaps you couldnt see a fighter will see things that are a lot less obvious to a fan.....he breaks things down very well verbally but it can still be difficult for folk to understand the complexity of whats happening in there sometimes....you said Ward isnt an exciting fighter and no he,s not but that doesnt mean he isnt fascinating to watch technically sometimes winning a fight doesnt require an exciting shoot out it needs a methodical mind. I go to a lot of fights mate im used to watching without a commentary i dont get blinded

Might not be your cup of tea mate but watch the film/documentary by Len McClean's son. I saw this only last month its at an Ironworks place in Wales i forget the name of the area there was loads of big Iron animal statues for sale.....i only went there because they did a Falconry display interesting place though......some of the mental Shaolin type weapons on display were frightening to think spotty teenagers are carrying around such things !

Talking of that ill manors film a few years back i had a few chats with this lad who reckoned he was some rap star he had started coming in the gym as he wanted to know how to bulk up for some new film he said he was playing the part of some sort of bad boy street getter type i took it with a pinch of salt as he just looked like a skinny posh kid to me......nice pleasant lad but didnt strike me as the type for that sort of role.......then a while ago i saw the film and recognised him stone me did he pull it out the bag he played a proper menace i forget his name now but he played the taller g -
f**k all that getting poked,prodded and spat at for odd quid a night most of these big fairies you see standing on doors would do it for nothing as well !......there was a time when an old time club bouncer would be given a wide berth now the kids look at these trendy door supervisors as an easy target for a quick rep.

I really dont want to sound like a prick but a lot of fighters and ex fighters would appreciate the technical performance of Ward that straight out boxing fans would not of even noticed like i already said Kovalev won his rounds bigger and in a more obvious way but the way Ward was circling and off setting Kovalevs attacks up close was beautiful to watch from a technical point of view.....a big puncher like Kovalev doesnt want to be off balance when loading up and Ward never gave him the luxury of a static target he was constantly changing the angles it was a brilliant defensive display i gues

Surely you Geordie lot must be pretty grateful to your owner that was some feat keeping hold of Benitez when the clubs in the championship.....shows a lot about the man as a manager as well plenty of top bosses would of run a mile.
