Some interesting points ! I trailed a dog years and years ago never jumped , I took it out and out it would try and smash through gates fences any bloody thing in the end his heart got the better of him he started to jumped so much game I consider ! But the time he took the perfect hurdle was out of sight after something straight under a bloody car ! You could and would not stop that dog , which was the end of him ! So I agree with alot on here for once and to me a game dog in my experience would run through fire after game ! Honestly I don't know the dog or you and haven't seen it work , but

Bird dont take offence you've reacted sensibly but people with not knowing you're dogs and having kids I don't think are wrong in being protective it's other numbskulls that cause issues ! Part and parcel of being a large breed owner ! At least you walk them pal

I had something similar , ended up In a dog fight with the neighbour throwing dog treats into them ! I went to the police and explained to be fair they were pretty helpful , they went around and had a chat we didnt have anymore issues ! I'm sure she means well but I would be fuming
