You can get a trail can that sends an SMS to your mobile you can also get alarms that get set out and sent tone to a base unit telling you the area. I would be closing all the curtains and just leave one open with a light on. Just a crack in the curtain to look like you didn't close properly. Set the cameras on that area. I think I would just put the camera there so when you check in morning you have the photos, just a in case you go out to confront and he has a knife or something.

.223 Or .243 For Lamping Foxes
activeviii replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Only problem with the 204 is the shop round and for that matter the reloading. As its not so common. Same goes for the 222. I have one and shoot a lot of rounds but I did not suggest it as I know how much harder it is to find the fodder. Yes the 204 is a sweet round but Its not the most practical. Come to think about it, the 22hh is the same. -
.223 Or .243 For Lamping Foxes
activeviii replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I think, once you start shooting foxes, you will take just as much pleasure getting the fox as close as you can. I call them within 25 Metres at time. Its my livk I guess. Just keep your shooting to 100 meters. My take on it is if your shooting foxes at your maximum range and you wing one, it will happen one day, you are then having to find a way to get back on that fox that is running away. To me, its much better to shoot them close and then if you do cock one up you still have the to get another bullet up the spout and put things right. I have shot hundreds with the 222, as has my rifl -
Semi auto 12g all the way. I have a bust up back. I have to shoot from a chair for 90% of the time. For pigeon I use 28 of 7.5 and have put over 250 though many many a time. I am thinking about switching to the 20g semi as the gun is lighter. Shooting pigeons with a rifle I have done a few time. But I just use sud 12lb or fac air. Not sure about the 22lr but I guess no different to rabbits.

.223 Or .243 For Lamping Foxes
activeviii replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
You don't need a .243, why spend more on ammo when the .223 will do the job just as well for the quarry you intend to shoot. Run it on cheap ppu ammo and all will be good. 223 is quite and cheap to run. Feo are normally happy to give out. 243 is loud, more expensive to run and burns out barrels quicker. As the cf will be the first you will end up putting a lot of rounds down it. Buying second hand is not advised if you don't know what your looking for. Yes there are lots for sale and cheap but a lot burnt out. Not cheap as £500+ for a rebarrel. 223 will allow you to take smaller deer s -

£3 for a spare battery i will put up with carrying if it saves big money on the cost of the torch.lol
-
Sorry no pictures as the nets have gone to a good home. thanks for the interest gents.
-
I beg to differ kidda. the one in the photo above will push further with a white led.

I make the T20 torch that sits on the scope, change to red led, new driver and remake the pill , works out to your 200 with no problems. ultrafire batteries of around 4000mah, last about 2.5 hours if run none stop but you only have the torch on for a few minutes at a time, so one battery lasts all evening. i have one on the scope and one in hand that i search with, they only take one 18650 battery but as long as you use protected batteries then your fine. so cheap you can carry a spare set. i have turned a few crelants in to red led for people but there is a lot better out there for your

i use the bushnell. from SGC they had it on special for £4.99 works ok. elasticated straps and small loops on the bino. watch them as one side came unstitched. i wouldn't go back to the loop around the neck as it swings big time when your moving. easy to set up and use, silent when stalking. what mores needed. oh, flop over cover for when it rains, thats what i need now

Still for sale

2 of the longnets are in one basket. it was a 100 but i cut it down and re-worked it to 2 x 50 meters. easier to use. as i used for ferreting. one on each side of the warren. On fibreglass poles with tight sliding bottom line. all it means is when you push in ground the bottom of the net stays level with the ground. as you pick the poles up you need to slide the bottom back to the stop so next time its ready again. white poles on ends and black in the middle also have a 50 meter, in a basket. poles are tent poles. have worked well for me with no problems. used a few times to clear

I have 2 x 50 metres in a basket on fibreglass poles. It was one net but found it of more use in half. Only used a few times. I have a 50 in basket as well that a might sell. But £100 for the 2x50 in basket on poles I'm in Gloucestershire. Bit much to post. Can't see where you are as I'm on phone. All the best Phil

Forget the long lead for the moment. to much to fast. Do the short work first, its not hard its very simple, take in stages and make sure you master one before moving on. Stage 1, when you walk on or off lead along a field blow the whistle once - dog will sit - say heel and walk off. if he does not sit blow whistle and say sit whilst pushing gently on his back. walk another 20ft do the same again and slowly you can drop the word sit you just blow, now this could take a day a week a month keep at it. then and only then he will click 1 pip means sit, stage 2, walk around field e
