  7. Keeps, Best of luck with Coleville's daughters ~ hope they fly for yourself and Mr Keeps. Database for working terriers would be hard to operate ~ you'd always get accusations of cliques etc with dissatified breeders. Maybe if you had a committee of working judges and to get a fully approved stud by the working plummer terrier association,a dog would have to satisfy a panel of working ability. you still breed, registar unapproved dogs etc maybe a gold medal approval. A breeder could push for it for one of his dogs if she/he wished. Maybe something like MFH working certs. Does s
  8. Keeps, Nice photo's of Deep dig's dog in action. He is a smasher to look at! As someone looking from the outside in ~ the negativity surrounding plummer terriers seems to be caused a couple of things. 1. They are viewed as a thinking man's dog i.e. Plummer bred them and wrote a lot about them also supporters of the breed are usually vociferous in the support of them and write a lot of articles to promote them. 2. A lot of people breeding plummers as bushing dogs etc and this versatility is causing people to question what they view as the number one objective of a working terrie
  9. Stan, Real nice stamp of terrier ~ Keep us posted on her progress ~ it would be a good thread to follow a pup's progress (success and failure) Celebrity Terrier or Big Terrier. 17. Hi. Opinions on Sounders V Hard Dogs. Which do you prefer and why? Myself i like a dog that mixes it a little, and does not get damaged unnecessarily.yet engages when you break through. For the simple reason that these type of terriers dont seem to age like dogs who continually drive forward. Voon.
  18. Milo, Handsome is as handsome does. looking for a couple of dogs that will sound/mix a bit. trying to get as much information on bayers/mixers or sounders so anyone who has any information on them write back. Voon.
  19. Seen a good few dogs fanged, can be a bit disconcerting when a dog don't know what's going on. snorting and trying to defang themselves, but looks a good deal worse than it is. Voon.
  20. Did you get a pedigree with your plummer dog. What way is he bred ? any help you could give me would be great. Voon.
  21. Scent, Get a 5 footer in bigish earth for him, and if he works it well take hand and all for €150, if not leave him there.even if you only got 5 digs for him only works out at €30 a dig. thats cheap i reckon. Voon.
  22. Bolty, What way the Plummer X work, sound and mix it a bit?? Voon.
  23. Thanks for that Dfee, Nice Type Looks like a touch of Border back down the Line? Voon.
  24. BBB, Worker to Worker is the mantra. If the plummer terrier is to gain acceptance as a working terrier then you have to able to dig with them consistently. In the Off season then you have the added benefit of having good mooch dogs which you can knock a bit of sport out off. Any Club looking to promote the breed should make it there top piority to accredit working studs or else the breed will be a toy breed. Was that Brian's wish in the long run? Voon
