  1. i hed that one and the lurcher one also. gave them to the local hunt show to raffel. i found them ok. but not the sort i would keep and read again......more fool me.
  2. sire of my dog. pic was kindly given to me by the breeder of my dog so i have no info on him apart from his name. rebel
  3. good luck with your pup. the sire is a tidy looking dog. have a pic of my dogs sire. a similar dog. will dig it out
  4. I still hate mute dogs and dont think they should be bred from a working terrier is supposed to bark. And as a foot note. There is nothing as nice and peacefull as a dig by yourself listening to every little sound of under ground work and the sound of the countryside around good post. its worth remembering that in area's with tree's the vibrations can be carried along roots and give a false possition. i used to lay flat on the ground with my arms and legs spread. you can feel the thumping through your body. then you can put your ear to the ground. a good booming voice was prized.
  5. most of the young generation would be lost without one. they totally rely on them. it is the must have piece of kit. but it doesnt need to be used 100 per cent. most digs can be done without using them. only resorting to using them when struggling.
  6. Thats fair enough and yes, its true of all dogs. Only this post was to show the discusting animal husbandry of one of the biggest plummer kennals in the world(Least thats what i was told?) and the fact they are sold by people, of what would to any novice may percive, as a position trust. i try to huy from folks who work there dogs if possible. i wouldnt buy from a large kennel. folk with only a few dogs are better able to asess there working capabilities. good hunting
  7. i know dan about as well as i know you. qwe. so i cant really comment. i take everything i read on these forums with a pinch of salt. as with most breeds there is back biteing and there are under currents. its not just a plummer thing its a dog thing. and is there in all the breeds. take a look back through the working terrier sections at some of the old threads. i dont beleive anything i hear and only half of the things i see. sorry to hear you have had a bad experience with your venture into plummers. and wish you the best of luck in your future ventures. i do agree with the hereditery

  9. not my sort mate but a fine looking working type. and am surprised at the show comments . good luck with your pup. looks to be carrying a little puppy fat . bet it looks better with a decent pic and when the puppy fat has gone
  10. i appreciate that dabchic. but it is work for terriers.
  11. yes that is right she bred my oldest bitch sassy. i got in touch via the moochers website
  12. i was also on the working plummer forum for a while and found it very interesting. for anyone into ratting it is probably the best ive seen. the members when i was on where varied and the majority helpfull and friendly the posts interesting the photography brillient. the forum has a small core of working terrier enthusiasts that work there dogs below. in genrtal a good place for working plummer owners. and i reckon most folk slating the forum have agenda.s or an axe to grinde... the best ratting post i have ever read/seen was on this forum. i have a clear mental picture of two dogs standi
  13. she is around 16 months i think . thanks for your interest
  14. thanks toka. the pics are deceving though she is just over 11 inch . the smallest terrier ive owned in many a year.
  15. Theres always one mate! (At least) Shout a lot but dont have anything to say. You can always tell-No valid points, just insults and threats. What the hell is a BAWBAG anyway?? BAW. testical. BAG. scrotum sack. hope this helps my youngest bitch is a very hyper bitch. but settles with plenty of exersize. she would try the patience of a saint .
  16. you can be job specific if you like mate. its just something that followed on from another post. and i wondered how folk had got on with the stuff they had bought off the www. i was thinking of earthdogs mainly. but all imput would be interesting. i maintain that there is good stuff out there. but care and patience should be used. to try and avoid. bring paired with an unsuitable dog very good advice from stevo there
  17. HAVE YOU EVER BOUGHT A DOG OR PUP OFF THIS SITE OR ANY OTHER WWW. if you have how did it work out for you. did the pup/dog go on to do what was promised or was you dissapointed. i have three terriers that came off of the www. and one lurcher. all have been as good as i was told they would be and the lurcher was exactly what was said on the tin. what are your experiences ? it goes without saying no names no pack drill
  18. what do you think i would do kid nap him .lol. you never know'
  19. theres as much shit being sold on here as there is in the yellow paper,id say near as damn it there all crap being advertized. you may be right . but then there is a lot of shit sold everywhere. i still maintain there are good well bred dogs that are sold on these www. forums. that is not just terriers . it is insulting to the folk that have sold surplus stock on here to tar everyone with the same brush
  20. you done your homework then there is plenty of shite everywhere. you just have to avoid it' are you saying that every pup sold on here is crap. i dont breed many pups. but if i did i would sell them to folk i felt where suitable owners. i also value dogs that some folk wouldnt keep. and wouldnt give kennel space to dogs that some folk value highly and i think its nonsence becouse you are insulting other folks breeding and principles without ever meeting them. in my opinion there are GOOD dogs to be had on the open market. so to speak. you can put yourself on a pedeslal if you like
  21. i cant follow a lot of whins posts. but agree with this one. the key words where bred and entered righr. and whin i wouldnt go to an invite unless i knew them. or they was vouched for.
  22. stevo. that is more nonsence. there is plenty of good well bred dogs to be had. the ones that buy shite either want a fancy looking dog for showing or are young and impatient. and the old saying comes to mind... buy in haste and repent at leasure. there are most definately good stuff to be got the length and bredth of the country. anyone that buys a pup from a yellow paper is asking for trouble. unless they do there homework. there is good stuff advertised on the hunting boards. agian the buyer should do there homework. do you not agree with this? liam thats a crackin old pic
  23. Personally i have never found hunt terriers game(In Ireland)They like yappy dogs that will bolt not kill.I once gave them a pup on the understanding he came back if not suited.A year later he was back to hard not suited. We used him for years after. i am with liam on this nombers dont impress me ,bolting type terriers we massive nombers dont mean you have a great proven dog on your hands, special proven dogs are about but its not the nombers game that makes a proven dog,a lot of these bolt type terriers can be shouted out ,a would say you would be a long time triyin shout a proper dog out from
  24. weekend warrior? ha ha ha! what a load a shit i would agree with that. some of the best terriers are back garden bred. by working folk. with a real passion for there sport. weekend warrior .
