  1. makes you wonder how many terriers perish due to the fact they are owned by wankers. you saved that dogs life mate. sounds like his pal is made of better stuff
  2. well to be honest i would say thats the most insulting post ive seen in a while most folk have low standards why not get off your high horse and say that most folk have different standards that dont suit the way you work your dogs. if my dog has done well. it will need more than a day off to recover. and if i was asked to work it again. the answer would be f.uck off. there is truth in a lot of the things you say. what yardstick do you use for these standards. do we judge all our terriers by other folks standards or our own? i judge my dogs simply by the job they need to do. if they can do wh

  5. thats what makes terrierwork a challange.. there's allways another day
  6. the addition of bull blood gives muscle. power. and drive. but what is often overlooked the ability to overcome injuries and a resistence to shock. a very important atribute in a working lurcher
  7. work out an exersize routine so that after feeding the dog is exersized and empies outside his pen. problem solved.

  11. your new to the forum mate. three posts. a hello. a merry christmas. and an invite out.. folk are a little guarded as regards terrier work and understandedly. get some posts up a pic or two of your dogs the way they hunt etc etc. get to know a few folk. and above all remember not everyone on here will be on the level. so take care there are a few good lads not far from you. and i drove by a crackin kick out just outside larky two days ago. have a good christmas and happy hunting

  15. biggest load of bolaks iv seen so far, well done mate like i said if your talking terriers ive worked russells from more than one strain borders crossbreeds lakies for over thirty years above and below. and havnt seen a terrier that could tie my big plummer bitches lace on top. she is like a small hound. i got the plummers as a challange as i was fed up doing the same old same old. with the earth dogs. and wanted to see for myself what this breed had to offer. so from personal experience i can honestly say that after trying other breeds and plummers. i am able to compare what
  16. jeeze that dog of yours is the spit of my amber. some tidy terriers fella's. kinda miss the plummer forum now
  17. if your talking terriers the plummer by a country mile
  18. i'm not so sure about that. it may be better in as there will be a clearer divide between the working dogs and the show dogs. each will have different values. and there will be a clearer picture. as there is with other breeds. there will allways be the terriers that dont come up to the mark for the KC folk being passed off as working stock. but again same with other breeds. the work enthusiasts will pay no attention to KC. NONSENCE. so it wont affect the working dogs pity you got a duffer. could have been a different story if you landed good n. good hunting to ya
  19. i agree that KC reg is not a good thing.... not for me anyway. but each to there own some will follow the KC route and some will take a different route. its the same with all breeds. hence the parson russell /jack russell. the KC lakeland/fell terrier. working border/KC border. there is one thing thats certain it will be the breeders that change the breed not the kennel club. and it will change.. some will say for the better. i will agree to differ. there is one thing for sure the plummer has a passionate following. and is here to stay in alol its forms. not becouse of brian plummer but dispit
  20. now here's the thing. the plummer is no different to other terriers. apart from the fact it was bred as a terrier to hunt rats it has the same makeup as many russell types. like the other breeds mentioned it is mainly owned by pet / show folk. and lets be honest the patt lakie and the russell are mainly owned by pet show minded people. having said that. the patts have a strong following of work minded owners as have the lakie and the russell. ( could someone remind me how many clubs organizations the jack russell has? not including the KC registered one as far as fancy clubs go the plumme
  21. sire of my luecher. also parr breeding shows signs of bull also.
  22. any of the working breeds would suit you. although the different strains/lines. will differ within the seperate breeds. so once you choose what you want do your homework. find a decent working line and dont settle for less. one of the best crosses to me is patt/russell.
  23. all these pages of shite and still not locked or removed sounder. good post mate
