  1. ive allways liked a smaller terrier. but generally have a big un about. they all have there uses. but if i had to have just one terrier it would have to be a handy size
  2. alli,I know the reputation plummer terrier's have among working dog men and I would agree that while these pups are being bred for sale to the highest bidder 95% of them will never see earthwork,if the drive to breed recognised worker's of the right size was pursued as strongly as the pursuit of KC registration then we would see a change in attitude from people like yourself,if you have never worked this type of dog then you will not be aware of its ability.Picture's can be put up but what does that prove?I've seen picture's put up on here of dogs smashed up and all and sundry come on and cong

  4. i like the wheaten cross but both crosses will have there supporters. would depend on the qualities of the wheaten or bull used. shite in both crosses also
  5. of course you can respect your advasary. keepers and shooters can and should respect the fox. an animal is not a pest becouse of what it is' its a pest becouse of where it is what they cant do is show it any mercy. yis cs

  8. i always have a terrier when out with my ferrets.
  9. well said. you gotta play to there strengths its not allways about the dogs qualities. its allso about the qualities of the man behind the dog in a lot of kennels that dog would have been chopped. but look at the foxes he's done. well in nice to see a few usefull russells in this thread
  10. ive worked a few. good enough fox dogs. all the ones ive worked or seen worked was old howlbeck stuff. george simpsons lines. bred down from piper. all where keen workers to ground. and all bar non where very gassy and would fight at the drop of a hat. hope this helps
  11. sounds like your jealous this fellow got some good permision. and you want it for yourself. what you should do is educate the lad. take up the offer and help him to control the foxes. on his terms. and think yourseves lucky. how do i know this wont happen? i wouldnt show you a blackies nest. ps. a shotty is a great tool for pest control. ideal for foxes
  12. have no idea how it works but i'm pretty sure i could make use of it
  13. there IS an art to working terriers. although many dont take it far enough to understand that. your knowledge of plummer bloodlines is undeniable. but you show your igmorance on working terriers. many terriers will work instinctivly. we had a fox terrier to ground a few years ago. but that doesnt say they are a good bet for terrierwork. the border terrier and the parson terrier are fast going down the shitter i had a well bred parson that was a very good grafter but he produced very little the reason was his blood was to diluted. you dont need em to work instinkivly you need them to work well
  14. nice looking terrier that looks as if he has done a bit in his time what makes you think that? the fact that its you on the end of the lead i dont know the dog or the owner but i do know its done its share
  15. nice one mate atb samson good luck with the pup caught my eye. looks like its going to be a flying machine
  16. i only have two bitches. one is working but is on the big side. the other is small and off a small worker i wouldnt breed a litter to prove a point but if she makes the grade and i breed off her your welcome to a pup
  17. some nice terriers and lurchers on display. and a good day allround. i felt the turnout was down on the last few ive been to. took a couple of pics. just snaps of dogs that caught my eye
