  1. should be no problem. must be loads about. as any fuker will do9 for rabbiting probably pay your mate for taking it
  2. ive seen a few. they all tore easily and felt the cold to the point i felt sorry for them. all where lighning fast and great to watch. i'm sure there are whippets that would prove me wrong but i can only say as i see
  3. ask yourself this would there be so many whippet based lurchers about. if the whippet was so good. OF COURSE NOT. get yourself a wellbred whippet based lurcher and you will get a thicker hyde better weatherproof coat meaning less shivering like a half shut knife and less tears and rips. resulting in less time off and less money wasted at the vets. there are many benefits from cross breeding whippets. the only downside is you will lose a little speed. and if you want a lightning fast dog. nothing will beat a little whippet

  8. i believe breeding is the most important factor in produceing good stock. but if you work them for a few seasons. then you know they are sound also.
  9. steady as a rock with folk. as is my bigger bitch. never so much as lifted a lip to a person either of em. talk of dogs attacking folk is just scaremongering and could be leveled at the pure as well you know. as for your expert. take a look at the improvemen in the russell brought about by splashes of fell bull and sundry other breeds. or if its more up your street. the KC parson. ive seen some very nice pures but ive also seen one or two pish poor one's also.
  10. very similar to some of the older stuff i'd say
  11. he wasnt born pre ban mate. but i doubt that a wheaten cross just under 60 pound would have much problem.
  12. the problem here lie's with. the breeder and the purchaser of the pup. the breeder should have known about the pups bite and expained this. the buyer should have checked out the pup before purchasing it what i dont understand is why it is now a big thing on the www. if the buyer is breeding a line and doesnt want to bring undershot mouths into the line. the answer is obviouse. so why the palava. i wouldnt use an undershot terrier unless it was a very special dog. and if it was i wouldnt hesitate. if i then produced a litter for whatever reason' i would make the buyer aware that the fault is
  13. ozzy. half whippet terrier i use him for rabbits and rats. day and night .ferreting and bushing
  14. i like plummer terriers

  15. I think with the decreasing gene pool and problems with them mating with feral domestics gives one of our most endangered mammals a hard enough time without some numpty trekking through the highlands with addidas sambas and a lurcher on slip..................Oh and they are very protected...............
  16. just to add sassy is a good ferreting dog and works well with the lurcher. although she has gone to ground and bolted a few foxes. i aint bigging her up as a digging dog. she aint she is a good allround pester and there is so much shit about the plummer that its good to try and show some positives
  17. ive had some success with sassy. she is an oc bitch and has done a little. she is however to big to be an out an out earthdog. but has bolted a few foxes to date and is keen to start the winter doing any legal pest control. nothing special but does the job and is a first rate top dog There you go a wasted mating (accidently on purpose of course) of a fantastic wyremead bitch to a massive oc dog ! One of the best working lines in the country polluted by pet bull blood dog!..(well done Brian great idea )..job sorted Imo of course,no offense intended. not accidentally on purpose,
  18. it is only fair to define (to big] how big is to big). and to small. can you get to small. i have owned a few very small terriers. and allthough they worked to a degree. and a clever man could get results. they where in truth to small to dictate what was happening under feet. if a fox pushed em they had to move or they whwhere in serious trouble. a handy size is what you need not to big and not to small. just right for the job spannable and with a little substance and bone about em around 12 to fourteen inch

One of the best working lines in the country polluted by pet bull blood dog!..(well done Brian great idea )..job sorted Imo of course,no offense intended. she is a big ugly brute.

  21. dee mac. i am content to keep a type. as long as it does what i need i'll be happy. i'm to long in the tooth to be bothered with all the nonsense that goes with the KC. and will just stick with what i like. as long as there are a few folk working this type there will be working type plummers. and when the KC recognise the rest. the divide will become a little clearer working type/KC type all the best
  22. ive allways liked a smaller terrier. but generally have a big un about. they all have there uses. but if i had to have just one terrier it would have to be a handy size
  23. alli,I know the reputation plummer terrier's have among working dog men and I would agree that while these pups are being bred for sale to the highest bidder 95% of them will never see earthwork,if the drive to breed recognised worker's of the right size was pursued as strongly as the pursuit of KC registration then we would see a change in attitude from people like yourself,if you have never worked this type of dog then you will not be aware of its ability.Picture's can be put up but what does that prove?I've seen picture's put up on here of dogs smashed up and all and sundry come on and cong
