    Brilliant read and excellent pictures nothing better than being out with the hounds and hearing them in full cry and that cry from the same area brings a smile to my face great seeing them marking.

    I thought the same meself dezzy till i seen it for meself we were out digging and a friend of mines wheaton bitch chewed through the lead and went to ground and travelled no problem and she was about 17inches and about 60 pound well over weight i was very suprised

    Good post kev i think 5 to 6 digs is plenty and if its a handy hole you can here the dog working away and you will know when its time you can open up,If hes a hard dog get to him quicker rather than a sounder you can leave working away.just my opinion but i think this amount of digs is enouf to let the dog familerise him self with his quarry for his first season.

    its just the picture bryan have to agree with you she looks like a kerry blue in that pic the bitch is 18 pound the glen is 30 pound fit hes a big lump of a dog,and the bitch is their to be dug not to worried about pups till their on the ground that was her last dig till she pups.il get a pic up of her when she has the pups.

    We got the bitch at 1 meter after all she was in for so long because the earth was so big she could not get him in a stop end but all good in the end as she bottled him up nice the quary new the crack and the bitch is only a bayer.

    Bitch looking well smasher its all a waiting game now with them,was out with the red bitch i had at the show dug her a few times since the start of the season but shes taking longer to heal now. shes a fine bitch,the pup is comming on well,she is travelling dry earths and marking live ones,just have her tied out on digs at the momment,she still only a baby,will give her a look around christmas time/new year,she is keen as mustard and would go now if she was let,ill try get some pics up soon,how is your own comming along? pup 5/6 months more recent pic of a dig with the old
