There was a factory recall on that model, regarding the injectors and the pump. Check with the dealer to see if it's been done mate. My mate had the same problem and when he phoned the dealer they asked for the reg number and told him it hadn't had the work done and booked it in and did the work free of charge.
My friend Phil Wagland has goldens mate, he picks up twice a week on shoots and runs them in field trials with great success. Good steady dogs and a pleasure to see working.
Good photo's of the dogs, just a pity about the pigeons they look like they have been in a cement mixer. Pigeons are always a nightmare to use on photoshoots with them being soft feathered.
Leave him another 4 months before you go lamping him etc, Won't hurt taking him ferreting in a couple of months though just for a look. Any dog needs to be both physically and mentally capable before you enter them to any quarry. And at 6 months he's just too young.
seen dozens of dogs ruined by folk starting them too early, but never seen one ruined by starting it too late
Yep no probs,, feck it 2 lads,,, once in a lifetimes opertunity,,,£ 500,,, a nights lamping and days ferreting that's 250 each lad ,,,, any takers.
Does that include breakfast?? if so put me down for 4 days
This is my run set up, 16' x 6' (1x8'x6' run, + 2 x 4'x6' runs) with indoor boxes. Shed is 16'x10' with a ferret court inside as well as the chest freezers and indoor dog boxes. I've fitted galvanised sheets to the areas on the shed in the runs.
Save your money and get a winchester SX3, Hatsan escorts are cheap for a reason believe me my mate has a gun shop!!.
I started to take a carrier bag out when i shot mine, so i could use it to put all the broken parts in!!!, the early models are shite and so is the repair/aftersales.
It's a gland mate, my whippet dog Sagar has the same, Some dogs (and bitches) will have it some wont. I've started giving Sagar salmon oil in his food and it's helped and the hair is starting to grow back. You'll find it most noticable when the dogs in his summer coat.
i Had one of the early models and everytime i shot the heavy loads it failed miserably, edgar brothers had longer than i did in the 2 years i owned it, sold it for £60 and bought a remington 1187 super magnum and it's never missed a beat even shooting the 63g loads!!
Best find another hobby mate, as there actually cutting beaters/pickers up money on some shoots now due to the recession!!.
90% of folk who pick up actually do it to give there dogs the work and they enjoy watching them working all day, they don't do it for the money.
