    REPAIR

he actualy means the grey box,,, what most of us call a mk1,,,,,, however the mk1 box had about 5 upgrades , so there are grey mk1 boxes that when you take the cover off, say mk2 , mk3 ect. there is of course the new mk3 carrot shape,,, but a year or so befor its reelease there was a mk2 carrot shape,,,, but it was discontinued cos it was crap. hope thats not to confusing aye yor right its the box type with mk2 marked on the wheel will the new type last as long
  6. some folk on here will have to have a bloody big garden :whistling:jokeing aside i think its more of a duty to be with the dog when its pts lets be honest the dog can't hear the words from you when its dead .
  7. When out last week the mk2 box packed up came home and checked if the warranty was still valid no its about 12years out of date so had alook at it today found wire snapped at battery connection so solderd new wires onto board and snap connecter but still no joy fiddled about a bit with batterys and collers then whent back to the battery connection and found that the solder had'nt took to the snap on cap so reheated and now its fine pleased i re checked it cos the next thing was to chuck it away can you tell i can't get out AND bored .
  8. are beaters in short supply in cheshire :search: .don't normaly see an add for beaters up here usually word of mouth .and yes you allways come accross the chancers good luck with your new shoot
  9. yep if you just want to shoot there is always the clay's
  10. we buy extra feed to help the birds we have left on the place to get through untill spring but as we don't have as many obout this year  and don't have to fill as many feeders, we have a head start on our feed for the season ahead.
  11. canny start then the hard weather hit early and put the mockers on the season felt as if we had'nt enough work for the dogs and when we had plenty of ducks they whent and put a ban on shooting them it's enough to bring a tear to a glass eye next season we are going to get the poults a month sooner so we can start shooting at the start of oct and not at the end as we have done in the past getting more feeders and some extra hoppers to dot about the place in the hope that if its bad snow again there will be enough feed for the birds to get at if we can't get to the place with road closures etc
  12. ok so i'am not a pro trainer but i do have some experience of dogs £135 for basic good manners i don't think so never had a dog show its teeth in all the years i have had dogs if you think i mean that you slam the dog with your knee
  13. Is this "just touch" it, or with a little force? Sounds like it is the same priciples as children. We can't stand the parents that say "no" "no" "no" "no" "no" then give in.. it teaches the child one thing.. persistance. I think I'll be able to make a little progress here then. The treat idea and knee technique sound do-able. Cheers Chaps and Chapesses just block it the dogs own momentum should be enough you only say no once on contact with your knee Danro
  14. remove the bearings and ID them by numbers on them contact your local bearing dealer and get a price most dealers supply bearings at less than 50% than the rrp you can do the same with the seals .
  15. when the dog jumps up bring your knee up to contact with its chest and use a command word like NO aiming for two results stopping jumping up and the meaning of NO.plus when anyone enters the room tell them to take no notice of the dog and dont make a fuss of it as soon as the dog settles call it to you and then fuss about it try to show that you are calling the shots hope this makes sense to you .atb.
  16. can you not see that there will be negatives from both sides aswell
  17. you have to ask yourself what sort of work will the dog be doing sitting at a peg with a few retrieves or beating(even this work can be easy or hard going )wildfowlind sitting and then water work or hunting for two or three hours at a time flushing and retrieving.for my money i have ess to work and shoot over .horses for courses as they say .
  18. i think it's called mud fever pals pup had it and got over it without any probs but he did consult his vet.
  19. its said by some don't get a dog thats mostly white because if it runs inn on the beating line or chases it can be easily seen by the keeper NO i don't think colour makes any difference at all.
  20. to use when zeroing scopes and the odd clay session.
  21. Do they reduce the sound of a centre fire with mod fitted enough to make a difference to your hearing. ? if so any ideas on a good buy and supplier.
  22. have you had a word with the goldie working/ trialing clubs a friend of the wifes Jen Hay has worked them and trialed for years i think she is an international judge now so i think there are good working lines out there you just got to get the right type of dog.
