thats sound advice, the vet should have dressed the wound but it will take a fair time to heal and will need redressing before its done. keep it well dressed if its in the house as they flick blood everywere from a bleeding tail and it will make the chat with your mum that much harder. good luck.

oh dear still mumling on :realmad: , confabulation is sad, ok last post on this subject unless you can come up with something interesting: mr super man socks you define glyconeogenesis and tell how dogs use fats. ps still waiting for the quote about creatine!

nice looking dog [bANNED TEXT]. keep thinking of getting similer cross myself as i've never owned one before.

if your dog has an infection of the scabies mite, known as sarcoptic mange in dogs, then keep in mind that humans can catch it from them so if you or family start itching! people have already posted advice on treatment ie stuff for humans work well.

i take it you didn't look up glyconeogenisis then mr socks? oh well you can take a socks to the well of knowledge but you can't make him drink. as to creatine being destroyed by cooking i don't recall saying it was or wasn't, but feel free to quote me if i'm wrong, what i said was that "a dog can get everything it needs from a balenced diet" a balenced diet, that has the meat cooked or raw, will give it all the building blocks to make/convert everything it needs including creatine theres no need to give it loads of crap!! perhaps you can tell me a little about diabetic dogs mr socks

socks mate go an look up gluconeogenisis, the process whereby none carb foods are converted into carbs (glucose) when there isn't sufficient in the food eaten, the definition is my own but i'm sure that although put into laymens terms it is basically correct, if you really want i'll go up to the loft an get one of my old anatomy and physiology books down and quote it ad lib. as for pictures of my dogs well i didn't know i was entering a beauty competition and i've got to say i've had good and not so good dogs in my time i don't think you could tell which was which from a picture. i've a bitch

1, thanks lots of info but i don't need google to be able to define creatine etc as in earlier post if i had gotten the info from another source i would have given that source! 2, i never said that creatine was anything other than what it is if you have a problem with my definition please tell me what part you feel is wrong. what i said was that there are ways of maximising your dogs potential without relying on unneeded supplyments. all these "athletes" that you mention i'm sure depend on training for their particuler sport above and beyond any suppliments that they may take. 3, if c

amino acid n. organic compound that contains an amino group (-NH2) and a carboxyl group (-COOH). amino acids are basic building blocks of every protein, the body is able to make some but others (essential amino acids) must be got from the protein in the diet. creatinen. a product of protein metabolism found in muscle. c phosphate (phosphocreatine. phosphagen) phosphate of creatine acts as a store of high energy phosphate in muscle and maintains adequate levels of ATP. ATP (adenosine triphosphate).n. a compound that contains adenine, ribose, and three phosphate groups and occurs in t

Foot prints, poo and holes, who's are they?
sandymere replied to a topic in Wildlife and General Photography
i'd agree with that seen foxes using parts of badgers setts as breeding earths. try squeeking down wind, from 50yds at dusk, when fox cubs are old enouth to gamble about i've had em come right to my feet. -
They will still be fertile unless they cross with a muscovy which this aint I'd say it was a kahki campbell, orpington or runner cross.do what darcy says and get it shot before it starts tredding all the pure stuff yis chris i'll 2nd that!

if you catch enough rabbits etc then sooner or later your gonna come across the odd deformity. i once, pre ***, had a morning to boast about my dog took 3 winter hares. what i don't boast about was that one was blind in one eye, one had been shot and was running around with live maggots in its side and the last had a large bony growth on it's hind leg. but three out of three sounds good.

sorry but many see creatine as some wonder muscle building drug but creatine (c.phosphate) acts as a store of high energy phosphate in muscles, the body excretes exess creatine putting extra workload on their system as it has to be filtered fron the system and excreted in the urine. a balenced, cooked meat or raw, diet will give all the basic building blocks (amino acids) for muscle repair as well as enough creatine for maintenance of ATP levels. sorry but this is getting a little heavy so will simplify next bit as much as poss. as allready stated protein and fat are used as an energy sour

the cooking process kills protein in meats and thus kills the creatine which is the main building block in the body usefd to repair damaged tissue and grow muscle ..... boiling veg kills all the vitamins and nutrients and renders them useless ....... carbs are not the main source of energy in dogs fats are ......... it's simple realy the dogs utilise food via gluconeogenisis ie turning it into suger to be burned in the muscles as fuel. creatine is only needed in tiny amounts easily available in a balenced cooked diet (weight lifters use creatine, steroids and other maybe harmful supplyme

Dr Atkins said that you would be healthy on a similer diet but science and common sense would say otherwise. just because someone says something in a book doesn't mean its true! a balenced diet will ensure that your dog gets all the fuel in the form of carbs and requsits for repair, growth in the form of fat and protein. a dogs digestive system has more similarities to our own than differences although hopefully a little more robust.

on you hob for looking to do well by your dogs cooking meat alows the dog to utilise more of the nutrients as the cooking process starts the breakdown. remember that protein (meat) and fat are in the main turned into carbohydrate by the dogs body (glucneogenesis) to be used as fuel. with carbohydrate sources such as vegtable matter then the cooking again alows more of the nutrients to be utilised. its common sense a balenced diet is best for man or beast. 3 food types: 1 fat used for repair, growth, storage and energy. 2 protein used for repair, growth, storage and energy. 3 carb

me. any thoughts about running dogs?

anorexia causes a suspension of periods in humans as can overtraining there could be a similer link in dogs. you could look at your feeding regime, carbs are the fuel and protien/fat for repair, a balenced diet is auguably best. i persoally like to see a back on my dogs over the summer. also if your dog has an extremely heavy workload then you could think about getting another to spread the load.

i feed nestle purina maintenance formula it's 29% protein which i drop by adding extra veg, even dogs with dicky stomachs seem to settle and do well + it's vat free an about 1/2 the price of the rest.

the russian coursing hounds are very different from english show dogs i would suggest that using the latter for lurcher breeding would be like using a show greyhound for racing, wouldn't be my choice but each to their own. there was some research done that showed that kennelled dogs have less health problems than those kept in the house.
