  1. Cheers Stevo - a couple went to my boss, I'll eat a couple but the rest will keep my 4 dogs and 7 ferrets going for a while. Thanks Si - he was more than happy, but there's a great deal more to go. I'm back once a month until October, so I should have a few nice bags.
  2. Now then, It's a while since I last posted - have barely been out with my rifle this year I think, save for the odd pigeon job for work. I had a few hours at the rabbits tonight courtesy of my job, and didn't do too badly with my R10. There's not much of a write up to it really - it was pretty thick and fast; some good shots that I'm very happy with, a few less clean that I would have liked. Ended the night with 29 in the bag (well, wheelbarrow), and there were three confirmed kills that dropped of kicked into holes. The good thing is that I get to go back and do it all aga
  3. Great shooting mate, enjoyed watching that one.
  4. I'm interested in what calibre the rifle is and it's power output. It's always interesting to compare what we have/can do here with the rest of the world.
  5. You'll find that ferrets fed on a raw diet will have a much darker coloured stool than those fed on cat food/dry food. Dark is good, I get concerned it if gets lighter. As Rakey said, if he doesn't seem to be in any discomfort, let him get on with it and keep an eye on the situation.
  6. Decoying can be a tough game...especially with an airgun, but what have you got to lose?
  7. What do you think of the Hugget mate?
  8. Good look out buddy, nice one.
  9. I have HWs on both my rifles, and they're deadly silent. I've read good things about the Milbro Hugget, but I think in terms of value for money, you'll struggle to beat the Twink.
  10. I love the look of the SEs. I've got an R10 and an Ultra, and the Scorpion seems like the obvious next addition...
  11. Have you still got your SuperTen Moley? I've not been around these parts for a while, and have lost track!
  12. You're all answering your own questions really - I think the point may be that not every airgunner has £400 - £500 worth of scope atop their combo. Personally, two of my rifles have IR, and I've used it to good effect in low light, just has already been said. I have Hawke scopes on all my guns, (only one of them cost more than £100 - and that's the only one that doesn't have IR, strangely) and they all do the business for me. I wouldn't let IR be a selling point, but if you've got it, in my opinion, it can be useful.
  13. Horses for courses mate - I think it's easy to read something, and then start believing that you think it too. It's been debated a million and one times on here, but the facts remain, if you do your bit, calibre is irrelevant. I personally shoot both calibres, and both fill my game bag (well, Tesco Big Green Bag). I can't say I prefer one over the other, although I'll choose my rifle depending on what I'm doing. (I'll always take my .177 Ultra if shooting at night for example). Having said all of that, it's entirely up to you!
  14. Nice long shot. Without doubt my favourite part of that video was the unscrewing of the camera. Classic footage.
  15. If you're thinking about your Ultra, have a look at www.xtxair.co.uk Personally, I wouldn't bother mate. You're barking up the wrong tree if you think .177 is the the better calibre.
  16. Nice one mate, really well written piece. Enjoyed it.
  17. Nice work Archie. I had grand plans to get out before sunrise this morning, but got up, looked out the window and went straight back to bed. Glad to see you're getting on with the R10.
  18. I'll buy it off you as a project if you decide to sell it though.
  19. Personally I don't think that a 9 year old needs anything like an Ultra or any other kind of PCP for a bit of plinking. I also don't think you need a full power rifle. I'd look at guns that are aimed at that market if I were you. It'll save you a fair amount of money, teach your lad safe gun handling etc. And if he's still interested down the line, then you can look at the next step. Consider the HW25. I got my first rifle as a birthday present on my 8th birthday. It was a Gamo Cadet Delta, and while some may turn their noses up, I loved it, and wouldn't be the airgunner I am today w
  20. Sorry to drag up an old post fellas, but I've not been on here in ages. Enjoyed that video. As a pro pest controller though, I'd question what the f**k kind of place lets that number of rats build up before doing anything about it! All the same, great for you guys!
  21. Great footage mate. Sounds like your truck's making a bit of a strange noise though
  22. Good luck mate, I have an SR12 on my R10, and it's an excellent scope.
  23. Haha, Phil, I have more than the odd day when everything has it's force field turned on - you've witnessed that!
