  1. After lining a total of 5 Jill's to 3 different hobs and not providing a single kit I asked on here for any advise but none came, so a chat to my vet came up with the possible problem septicocklecanulas ( not sure if that's how it's spelt) an internal infection, so a 5 day course of clavudale 50 mg anti- biotics should clear it up, then he advised re dosing upon mating next spring, so fingers crossed it works otherwise a bloodline 30years old could be lost, cheers Neil b

If you share your permission with fellow hunters ferret that first then move onto your own permission, there's nothing worse than starting the season off really well then tailing off at the end

Keep all the same colour nets the same length for example, red = 3ft blue=3ft 6 green=4ft ect that way your not going through your net bag looking for a suitable net,
  4. Got my coat this morning, highly recommended and good chap to deal with
  5. yes he's been used between 3 of us for a good few seasons, a trip to the clap clinic then
  6. Well after the 5th Jill not looking like going to produce any kits, all to different hobs me and my mate wondered if it would be possible that all our Jill's have been lined by the same vasectomised hob for a good couple of seasons would he maybe pass an infection onto all the Jill's making them infertile? It seems very strange that we haven't produced a single kit, cheers Neil b
  7. I'm just waiting on a Jill now, 10 days left, I've used a hob from outside our line now so fingers crossed if not il have to make do next season with a few ageing members of our team
  8. Quite possible 2 years ago she had. Young and was very protective with them,
  9. After 3 Jill's missed to 3 different hobs we lined a polecat Jill to a different hob only for her to miss too, she showed all the signs, last Thursday night she had a bloody discharge at feeding time so I though the next morning would see a nest full but not a single kit. Our last hope is a Jill due in about 10 days,
  10. If your happy with her mate breed her!
  11. Mother Nature moves in mysterious ways,
  12. I put three Jill's to three different hobs and all of them didn't produce any kits, two of the hobs produced kits last year. Typical when you want to breed replacement stock!
  13. I'm after some info, my dad has held a firearm ticket for the last 10 years but due to ill health he is not renewing it, so I thought I could get a friend who already has a ticket for a .22 rimfire and .22 centerfire to put it on his ticket while I apply for mine, so we filled the relivent forms in for transfere of firearms ect, anyway 5 weeks later and we haven't heard anything so he rang the lancs firearms dept only to be told he has no need for two .22rimfires so he explained he would just be holding it do me until I get a ticket they said you can't do that, anybody any info would be greatf

  15. The red Merle is stunning mate
  16. Something like that happened to me a few years back lined my best white Jill to my mates hob, due date came and a kit was hanging out of her so a trip to the vets, an injection to help with the contractions and 5 more kits 2 alive 3 dead, I kept them both a hob and Jill, both of which have made good working ferrets, but the vet advised me not to bred off the mother again.
  17. I wanted to breed my own off my own tested stock, and keep the line going.
  18. All fully in season, yes I saw the matings, left the hobs in 7days
  19. That should say all to different hobs,
  20. Between me and my hunting mate we have lined 3 Jill's all to different Hobson and haven't produced a single kit, typical when you want new stock it all goes wrong. Anyone else had any bad look?
  21. Fan of the Merle mate, looking good
