    Went with my good lady to Hampton court palace earlier,had an ice cream and walked along the Thames,got a bit peckish at lunchtime and popped into a Thai,I recognised the guy at the next table and had a brief chat,art imitates life,he once acted in a movie featuring a lifestyle I was no stranger to,nice guy.

    Done the lakes loads as a kid,it was ok.Going to just camp totally,don’t need accommodation when it’s on my back,plus there’s loads of places to just pitch a tent where there’s no-one,did loads of this type of thing in the past,even camped out in remote china and pakistan.I was on the trek twice last year both times when I had to visit Geneva here’s one of the villages the trail goes through,three countries in 10 days is average.

    just been to Snow & Rock,starting to get kit for my TMB trek,found a shop in Chamonix for tent,sleeping bag rental so just flying to Geneva with hand carry.Tried the boots on the rock-slope instore,good grip on irregular rocks,the first Meindl review mentions the Mont Blanc trek so getting the Meindl,the in store rock-slope isn’t like a real deal alpine rock slope but the boots were a good fit and have great soles so they should be fine.
