  1. Quite possibly the worst thing you can do to your barrel other than jumping on it is putting pieces of plastic/nylon through it. My own experiance with them (and every one I know) says that you will forever be cleaning the burnt/melted plastic from your barrel and trust me its not easy to remove. Watch the strands of black string stuff that puffs out of the barrel. They are woefully inacurate and a total waste of your money. The ones made entirely from Zinc are a far better option and even better still, lead ones Gimicks come and go and lead pellets are still being used for a reas
  2. Hi Bob, You are correct about the lead, however Duck can legally be bopped with an air rifle as long as it is within season as it is classed as game and not vermin However anyone doing so should have the permission from the landowner or whoever and only a fool would try to drop one whilst in flight Tony
  3. Very well written Simon Exceptional read Tony
  4. I would have pointed him towards Bob and also www.umarexboysclub.co.uk Tony
  5. On tour Davy? Vaguely remember you doing similar last year? Enjoy and Chaz, Shoot Straight buddy Tony
  6. Just remember Ducks need a brain shot and ONLY when in season
  7. Only fault is the weight (for some) but other than that, they are fantastic rifles Tony
  8. I would also reccomend the S200 as its very light. A slightly heavier but nice size is the BSA Ultra. Tony
  9. :welcomeani: to the forum Ian Have the HW chronographed, you may be suprised at its output The SMK 19 is a copy of the HW35 and I love mine although I rarely shoot it these days. Its taken out way too many bunnies to count But if I had the chance of the HW at that price, I'd have taken his hand off at the wrist Tony
  10. I personally hammer everything on the cemetery permission, young, old, bucks, does, including milky and ones carrying Spring summer, autumn and winter. The reason? Serious fecking damage caused. I really made a differance a couple of years ago totally wiping out the big central warren and giving instructions on how to keep it free in the future My advice fell on very deaf ears and within a few weeks the next batch from the paddock permission (where I can use my discretion on what to shoot) had repopulated the central warren As long as I can use my discretion on the paddock I'll hav
  11. Have a word with these people (they manufacture most pumps for rebadging by companies like BSA, Webley etc). http://www.airriflepump.com/ The service guide is on their site as well. Tony
  12. This is one of the Damned if you do, Damned if you dont scenario's. More and more bunnies are building an immunity to myxie It used to be, kill em all, but now if a bunny gets it there is a GOOD chance that it will recover If it does recover, then when it breeds it will pass on a a stronger immunity to its young. If this carries on then eventually further own the line if a bunny gets myxie, its likely to be no more serious than a common cold is to us Myxie hit my land last year, I'd not seen it before on any of the land I shoot over and was worried it would decimate the population.
  13. You did well yourself if I remember correctly Chaz Tony
  14. Yes it has been been bitchy and bad while I've been away from what I have heard, but I'm back again and between the older regs and the mods I'm sure we'll back to being the boy scouts of THL and enjoying our Jamborie again Yeah, I'm okay thanks been outa the scene for one reason or another since January but since the meet, I'm keen to get back shooting again now Take care Tony
  15. Im glad you followed that up with "LADS" Jasper, you won't have the excuse of being up at the crack of dawn inseminating birds next time unless your talking about the featherless ones. Is that Dawn in your avatar Tony
  16. Needing another break from the bitchin in the dog section eh buddy? Come back to see civilization again Tony
  17. I can't even think of an excuse Paul Last years Top, this year Bottom
  18. It was an AWSOME weekend Chaz, Davy, You both done us proud again HUGE THANKS to you both :notworthy: To everyone To Sharon and Shaun Many, Many, Thanks for your part and allowing us all the use of the land and the shooting range :clapper: To all the new friends I have made this weekend, It was a pleasure to meet all of you :friends: To all the friends I've met before, it was a pleasure to see you ALL and catch up again Especially Si and Laura To Sue and Owen Vinning, a very special THANK YOU without your help I would not have made this meet :notworthy: And F
  19. Sod that Mike He obviously should go for a .25 :tongue2: But on a more serious note! First welcome to the Forum Rich Second, if you can put a pellet where you want it to go at the ranges you use then it don't matter one Iota what cal it is. Si's (Zini's) R-10 is a very sweet model thats been tuned to perfection by very good gunsmiths with a reputation for excellance Add that to Si's own natural marksmanship and his knowlage of ballistics and he will put those pellets exactly where he wants them at whatever range he chooses. The ONLY advantage of .177 over .22 is that th
  20. Cheeky git I got hair now you know Still I've polished the silver tonight. It looks great and looking at that new list buddy I may have a 1 in 22 ish chance Now I'd better get some kip as I dont want Owen and Sue knocking me out of my brand new bed, like the postie and other delivery man did yesterday and this morning! See y'awl Tomorrow :boogie:
  21. Figured I'd leave it here buddy Save carrying it home again :11: Seriously tho, I've shot a rifle once this year (excluding a 6 yard bell with an old recoiling springer) only shot pistols once or twice this year as well. My rangefinding by eye will be none existant this time as ive not done that since last year. I don't stand a freakin chance this year :wallbash:
  22. Oh NOOOOO, No Wurz, No Joey, No Danielle Gutted But unfortunately things get in the way of pleasure sometimes. If it were not for young Owen and his Nan, I would have had to post the trophy back to Davy as I would not have been able to make it either. I'm just glad there are going to be a few faces from the last meet (and I'll appologise to you all in advance if I forget who you are as my memory is down the pan at the moment; due to the meds I'm on ). Good to here that the awsome camp cook will be there (not that I'm implying Scuba's camp at all ) Chaz & Davy, Put
