New Perm eh? :boogie: G'look guy's Tony

Hiya Simon, From what I heard from a local guy (rfd) Webley got shut of the two dick head's that tried to cut costs and sell on the name only. I gather that the new Owner of Webley is intent on restoring the good name, and has paid a personal visit to all webley stockists over the last year to try to restore confidance in the name. Tony

He's got all the time in the world now from what I heard at the THL meet. Well apparently he has for the next 15 years anyway! I'm not 100% sure but isn't he "busy doin' nowt at her majesty's pleasure"? Tony

Trust me buddy, Trading standards will want a copy of the letter AND royal Mail confirmation that the letter was recieved by the company thats why TS tell everyone to do it via Recorded delivery (so they have the signature to say it was recieved) and then they tell everyone to come back with the evidance before they will look at the case I've used TS so many times I've lost count! I've found that a simple line at the end of the letter saying something along the lines of "As your company has signed to say you have received this letter, failure to respond or not arrive at a conclusion th

Sorry to put a spanner in the works; but guns DO come out of the factory running hot this is the reason I am the less than proud owner of a section 1 caution some tw@t at BSA was not doing their job and my Ultra was found by the police to be running at 13.02 ft/lbs and the police confirmed it had not been tampered with. So thanks to BSA's negligance I now have a f ing criminal record Tony ps OP, explain whats happened to the dealer, also send it in writing, explaining that you want a refund, send the letter recorded delivery and if they don't refund you pass the case onto Tradin

There are a variety of long eye relief pistol telescopic sights but if you want a cheaper alternative then a holograpghic red dot would be more suitable than a laser. Lasers need to be mounted at either the side or underneath the gun. The holograpghic ones will fit on the scope rails on top. Its pretty hard to zero them on full power so only use half power The trick to using them is let the dot hover in front of the target rather than placing it "ON" the target, difficult to describe really thats the easiest way to describe it Tony

Its unlikely that a single dryfire will harm that particular pistol, its a well built beast

The HW45 is totally unsuitable for Squizzer Unless you have it in a cage trap that is. The 45 power output is just under 6ft/lbs at the muzzle when its cocked at full power and squizzers are suprisingly tough lil gits The 45 is okay for short range ratting IF you can learn to shoot it with accuracy as it is a beast to control. The recoil is very prominent on the 45 Tony

Gutted for you Wurz I've been messed about like that, but not with a gun. I know you've been eager to get your hands on it for a while. Take care buddy Tony

Morning Sean, I would also suggest the tinfoil approach. A little bit scrunched up, rub affected area and put on the oil I wouldn't try the wirewool trick myself though, simply because I am a litlle ham fisted and I would no doubt take the whole bluing off Tony

I quite like the S16 myself although they did get a poor rep after certain people at Webley (no longer employed there thank goodness) decided to cut costs and rely solely on the name so sell goods. If you have one that (and it sound like you do) does not frequently malfunction its an excellent rifle. Webley are now on the way back up I will eventually get myself an XVI (S16 with its new internals) Excellent work on the Corvids Tony

:welcomeani: Ernie, The AAF's are excellent in most guns, I use them and I also use FX pellets, almost identical to AAF's just a touch heavier (.10 of a grain). They were a pound cheaper than the AA's and my grouping was only a matter of a mm or two wider at 35 yards. 20mm groups at 45 yards is excellent Tony

Hi Sean, I'm so glad you've listened, I know I was brutal in my last reply, but that was as Darryl said, the way your attitude came across  Guess you would end up wasting your time doing the course if you wound up with a section one offence under your belt! Regarding insurance, I'm with BASA and have been for 3 years but each year I am getting more and more disgruntled with them and will be taking my business elsewhere when it's up for renewal next time. I am still awaiting my documents from last year At the moment BASC are a little out of my price range, so I shall be looking at -

Okay you don't go on farmers land; so if your not on farmers land; and your not on private land where you have permission to shoot; then you are actively seeking to be shot by an armed response unit If you aint got permission, then you are looking at a minimum mandatory five years in custody; thats IF the police don't put holes in you first You are also giving the anti's extra ammo for getting airgun-shooting outlawed. Just like that w@anker Michael Ryan and the tosser who shot those litttle kids in Dunblane. Get lawfull permission or get the feck off this forum and stop giving the re -

Cheers Daz It was only a 10 minute walk to my permissions, now its either a 3hour walk or two trains and 30 minutes walk. Got some leads on local permissions here though that I'm going to be following up once my chest has cleared up again -

Hi Andy, fair to crap to be honest I was hoping to get to my permission today for some range time on paper and then a couple of bunnies, one for a curry one for the cat. But it's all gone tits up again, so gonna be doing the UBC 6 yard Vintage Rifle shoot if I've enough ink in the printer to print the targets -

Ellooooo Mal, Long time no see, hows you these days? -
You can get pistol scopes with long eye relief. Personally if your wasnting it for ratting a holographic red dot or a laser will be good. As you say there is a fair crack from them, but there is also a huge amount of recoil when using full power on them. It takes a lot to master it on high power I know of a few people that use them for pistol hft

The ONLY good thing I've heard was the manufacturers hype about them. You could always put up a poll and find out how many people on here use them or read http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/153209-prometheus-pellets/page__p__1549665__hl__%22plastic+pellets%22+or+%22%3Fnylon%22__fromsearch__1#entry1549665 http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/199080-pellets/page__p__2018767__hl__%2Bplastic+%2Bpellets__fromsearch__1#entry2018767 Or go further back using the search forum feature I got my hands on an old Daisy rifle the other day paid a fiver for it purely for in -
Nice one Garry, Thats what the foum is all about, passing on Ideas, hints and tips We have a lot of newbies that pop up and you've given some valuable tips and ideas there Apart from when over in Germany and a shot with a similar set up to yours I've not used my scopecam yet, although thats going to be changing once I've had a little more range time. My set up is the step up and step down rings to hold the camera in place. I quite like the idea of putting a lighter camera on top of the scope using the little bolt adaptor that you show as well. One thing that you did forget to ment
