The Rangefinder has a crosshair reticle much like a basic scope, place the object/target in the middle. The laser is central in its housing to be representitive of the crosshair position in the viewfinder. Unlike a pellet that has gravivty pulling it down the laser is directional light that is fired straight at the object. Optical Rangefinders as mentioned above (like a telephoto lens) are focused until the image is sharp and then the range is read from a coresponding marking system. Tony

The Davy Crockett challenges as on Myth Busters TV.
Phantom replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Most of us (Si and Davy included) use sub 12 air rifles Modern Rifles are far more accurate than the shooters using them (one thing we all agree on) which basically means a good marksman will push his boundaries until he feels he is at his limit. Si is an amazing Marksman (as well as an expert on Ballistics) as are a few others on here. I was pretty good myself a couple of years ago (See my avatar holding the Silverware from a meet) but not had much practice/shooting over the last 12 months. Get your name down fo the Meet in Nottingham in June next yeat and meet us all in person -
Welcome aboard Si's a great guy and very knowladeable as are also many others on here A friend of Si's is a friend of ours Tony

I've had them face on between the eyes/through the forehead. Only had one where I couldn't see the entry wound (some of the older regs will remember this) the bunny that had stopped for a second after running towards me had sat and yawned as I let the shot off! (Buster called it a fluke LOL ) but if it hadn't yawned it would have had a hole in its forehead! The pellet flew true and the bunny rolled backwards. After an initialinvestigation I could feel a lump in the back of the neck where the pellet had cleared Bug's Teeth, entered the back of the throat and displaced the vertabrae in the ne

Sounds simple but fresh battery? Or have you checked and cleaned both lenses? Mine began going 'out' (different make and model) after the battery began to fail and although it could find bright objects, dull/fine objects were hard work. Just a thought. Tony

How do you fit a lamp to your riffle
Phantom replied to bigbarnett's topic in General Airgun Discussion
That was just a little image I found in the public domain (internet). I personally use much smaller tactical type lamps. Do you know what make/model of the lamp is? Failing that, I'm sure one of the regs on here will put a close up view of a connector/adaptor for you. Even if it's not your particular model it may help so that you could perhaps make one (were quite resourceful on here some of us lol) Tony -

How do you fit a lamp to your riffle
Phantom replied to bigbarnett's topic in General Airgun Discussion
From what I know of the big lamps, there should be some sort of adaptor that would fit /clamp onto your scope and the lamp would then slide on and off the mounting adaptor. Tony -

I can't find Nightwish on the line up so...................... See you all in June guy's Tony -

Okay, in the Extreme cold, the QB will drop in power (as will any Co2 job) but the QB is certainly more than capable of taking down a bunny out to 40 yards (most people dont/wont shoot past 30-35 yards). I got my hands on one a few years ago, using AAF's I dropped every target on the range from 8 yards to 60 (only missing the 65 once due to my feck up). Try paper punching out to various ranges. If you really want a PCP then the AAS200 is exceptionally hard to beat for accuracy, although the newere ones (MKIII) are seriously reduced in power, they will still do the business if you d

if you are stuck for seben mount, drop me a pm mate as i have one spare Cheers Sneaky, Once I've got silly season out of the way I'll do that I have the original mount that Si gave me, it can handle both the weight of the camera and it's brilliant for the scope that Si gave me as well. I put it on My MK4 and the ultrafine threading on the ocular lens proved it couldn't handle the weight of the camera and battery (the finer the threading the finer the tune for focus). I have also the Hawke HD scope but I'll have to fit shim's to make it stable and if the thread id as fine on the Leu

aa s200 pellet probe seal
Phantom replied to dogvixen01's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Piece of cake, get the ring from Chambers http://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=24235&cat=S200 Then cut the old one off (gently). Soak the new seal in warm water to soften it, and use a blunt needle to then prize the ring over. If you can't do it that way, then there is the "Propper" way! Bit of a long drawn out proceedure, but I can help you out on that if needed. Tony -

A few months ago I shot a Forcaval Capsule with my Beretta 92FS Pistol. Looked like a murder scene from a horror flick when it broke and spread the contents ovar all the walls, ceiling and floor! These are prescribed vitimin capsules with a liquid(ish) inner core. About an inch in length and 6mm diametre Tony -

Bit of surface rust? scrunch up a little aluminium foil and use it like a scouring pad on the rust! Sounds daft? its harder than the rust, but no where near as hard as the steel of the gun. Works a treat, then a wipe over with an oily rag, SORTED Tony -
hw 100, bsa r-10, aa s410 which one
Phantom replied to paulk73's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Unfair question To be honest! Depends on the shooters ability and how comfortable the shooter is with the particular gun What you may find performs best, I may find performs the worst in my hands and vice-versa .22 -v- .177 again down to personal preferance! .177 pellets are usually a bit cheaper than .22 Tony -
Whats your grouping like? I've shot a fresh clean barrel and the 10 shot (.22) groups are less than 1/2 inch at 35 yards, with that kind of group It didn't need bedding in! Tony
