Heavy is a MAJOR understatement. It makes the HW100 feel like a piece of Balsa Wood..... I nearly gave myself a tripple hernia when I shot it a couple of years back:icon_eek: Bill, he calls it HE cuz, Niels lass is sick of comming second (theres a cracker in there somewhere in that line ) Ohhhhh........ Blackmail time me thinks Bring me that film round Niel or I let Wodney know that whiffwhaff been calling him a smart arse again Wheres the big wooden spoon stirring the pot icon? Phantom -
Hi Roger, Had me worried for a second when I saw Red Finches, then I saw your location Sounds like you both had a good time Can you send some of that heat and nice weather over this way buddy, it was minus 3-C here last night when I had my telescope out. Needless to say I didn't use the metal handles for guiding it. Warm weather would have me out shooting ATB Phantom

:11: Lesley reminded me of my rescues from last year during the summer. We have House Martins in a corner of the loft during the summer. A young one had come out of the hole onto the guttering and fell down the downpipe My neighbours moggie was sat at the grate for over an hour before I chased it off, then it returned as soon as I turned my back. Chased it off again and had a look down the grate, the bird was hanging onto the grate just above the water level I pulled up the grate and took hold of it. They have SERIOUSLY SHARP talons and it got my little finger and drew blood After

Nice shooting buddy Shame about the one down the hole though. From what I understand, if you want to clear a warren (not 100 % sure of this though) of bunnies for a few months or so, stuff a dead bunny down it. As it rotts and the skin opens the nasty niff of death fills the place and the rest of the occupants move house Like I say when not 100% sure, I am happy to be corrected I'm going to have to join in the comp next time it runs Phantom

I have never used one so far. However I would use one as I too have dificulty more especially at night. They are fairly simple devices, they fire a laser at the target and they work out the distance to the target by measuring the time in microseconds for the laser beam to be bounced back to the sensor in the unit. Usually you would look through a viewfinder at your target, press a button and the unit works it all out for you. Prices range from £ ish upwards. Much of it depends on the lable attached to the unit, for example a Leica would set you back a couple of grand, a Bushnell

Cheers Guy's I actually got away with very little damage to the wall :phew: The biggest crack is just about 2.5 inches in length so I can deal with that The worst damage of this episode is my thumb and trigger finger has all split again. They both looked great when I removed the bandages this morning, so thought I'd leave em off BIG mistake huh? Take care Gents Phantom

700 Pellets fired....Still no zero...
Phantom replied to JackReid's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Good thinking there young Jedi Thinking back to last year, young Aaron had a similar problem with accuracy after becomming a very proficiant young marksman, all of a sudden his grouping went to hell for a while, turns out the screws that secure the front of the action had failed. Phantom -
Hey guy's and doll's I was in the kitchen this morning and I heard some noises while I was making a coffee Now with it being such a nice sunny day, I thought it was maybe the house heating up (as you do) to start with, but then it seemed like it was sort of a scratching sound Now I was in the house by myself and having watched the remake of the Amityvill Horror in the early hours I though it was probably just my imagination because I was so tired (not slept since I got up yesterday/saturday). I went into the lounge and had my coffee and dinner then began to fall asleep. This lasted

Hi Jack (try saying that on an airliner at 30,000 feet and see what happens!) Just looked at the spec's for that model, their site classifies it as a good allrounder although it does not specifically state 'spring gun rated' you can see what my 1st thoughts were cant you? How long have you had the scope? I'm thinking like others and yourself, get another one for testing the accuracy of the gun. My second thought was, is the gun (I know they are quality kit but it does happen) consistent in its power? Any rattling or odd sound when the piston goes? I'm thinking perhaps a cracked -
At 21 grains each I think they are heavier than .25's ? Love the write up Davy and appreciate the Close up to I like to write up about my cock ups as well as sucesses, so that others will learn from them, it also re-enforces my brain not to make the same mistake again Great advice that, about the adreneline versus patience Si are you back in the UK? Hey guy's I was out at 07:00 walking to the shops this morning. Hardley a car to be seen. The noise though was unbelievable every house in the village seemed to have either gull's, doves, woodies, sparrows and corvids coo'ing, squaking and cawing. As I walked towards the Red Hawk Pub thyere were 14, 14 fecking Magpies in the tree outside. They were cackling summat rotten. I was so tempted to go home and get myn guns When I got home, I noticed 2 doves on the ridge of the roof, SWEET theres my dinner just waiting to be cooked Got my gun, walked to the end of the garden ne

Aaron, The name Stoeger may be little known but its parent company certainly is well known Stoeger is a wholly owned subsidiary of Benelli; which in turn is owned by Beretta. Just shows doesn't it? Italian quality manufactured in CHINA Phantom

:clapper: If only every random act of kindness had a good outcome to your uncle Phantom

HI Jasper I quite like the softer pellets (if what people say about AAF's are to be believed). Softer lead gives that little bit when the impact occures, thus transfering more kinetic energy and less chance of a through and through. I have some BizMags in .22 (about 50 courtesy of RiffRaff) but have not tried them yet. However I did see a .177 BizMag enter a bunnies brain and carry on out the other side. Bunny then decided to give it legs before a second head shot dropped it Phantom
