  1. Nice going Gary Totally off thread but talk about the way we phrase things, I had the CPN round yesterday and we were chatting about this and that. The conversation lead me to chat about kids and how none of mine like to shoot etc... He mentioned that the church he visits has two services on a Sunday, one for the adults/teens and a family service because he's really into the young kids. Without a bat of an eye I said "That about sums up the church entirely to me Rich; What you just said sounds soooooo wrong on so many levels" Then it clicked Talk about 'phrasing' he could
  2. Cheers Cunninghamb I've decided if I get out tomorrow (and I better do!), I'm gonna give it a try If I keep putting the cream on and put new bandages on then the way things are going, they should be pretty much back to normal within the week Skin on fingers is responding nicely and going soft, just got the cracks to heal Phantom
  3. But at least I put the sensible stuff up first for a change
  4. Personally I hate it  Much prefer the tunes at the wedding Phantom
  5. Hi there, If my permission was about 5 times bigger, that would have been a good option But because its so small, I have to seriously think about safety every time I think about entering the paddock or cemetery. Houses, Main roads, people walking dogs etc... and as my trigger is fairly light I dare not risk an accidental discharge in any direction, quite often I am shooting litterally 5-10 feet from a footpath 15 feet from the road. An accidental discharge could ruin things for me big time And BEFORE anyone starts whinging about the 50 FOOT RULE, most people who pass me only fe
  6. Thats right Jasper, bring the thread to the gutter! Now its down to my level
  7. Hi Bud, :welcomeani: to the good ship THL Lots of friendly folk here, will do all they can to help, advise and assist you The occasional :wankerzo4: around too, but we try to ignore them and help other like minded individuals improve their hunting skills. This section is reserved for our hunting exploits in the field, so general conversation etc goes in the banter section, any tech questions, in the advice section. If you like hunting bunnies and other GL species your gonna fit in just nice What rifle do you hunt with? Phantom
  8. I've only ever been accused of over penartation once It did shut her up though Phantom Sorry Aaron, your too young for a full explanation on that one
  9. Sweet well done Gary Phantom
  10. Nice read SS I mentioned last year about the Charlie that dashed out of some cover and robbed me of a kit that had barely hit the ground. I wouldn't mind, but the Fox didn't hang around long enough for me to get a pic of it with my meal in its gob. Some cheeky wildlife out there aint there? I've not seen any Buzzards round here, but I'm informed there are many just over the hills behind us. Phantom
  11. Yep, turn it in, lower power, turn it out and you quickly go FAC (assuming you are talking about an AA) If you've moved it, get it chronoed Phantom
  12. No but I'd swap for the little Snubby he carries and an hour with the bird he pulls at the bar
  13. I've got BIG fingers OTM, can't get mine in and now the bandages are on absolutely no chance Phantom
  14. Thanks guy's Gary I can shoot left handed from the pod with good accuracy, trouble is my left trigger finger is also wrapped up in bandage as well Phantom
  15. Hi again Adam, I've not used either of those pistols. I'n not sure of the power output of them either, sorry I cant help you with that Phantom
  16. Middle finger to squeeze the trigger? Reason I ask is because as some of you know, my trigger finger (on both hands) is fecked! My thumb on my right hand is also buggered and now I have three digits in bandages and the possibility of another three going the same way I'm desperate to get out and shoot but can possibly only use my middle finger. I will be shooting from a pod, so I'm thinking the gun should remain stable as I squeeze. Guess I should use the paper first to see what happens and come home if the grouping aint too good. Phantom
  17. Perfectly Legal and humane (assuming its head shot within a sensible range) to drop a Hare with a sub12. Phantom
  18. Excellent as always Stealthy Sun was shining for this morning this side of the river. Sadly I had to pay a visit to another gorgeously sexy nurse at our local surgery It was WAY to cold for me this afternoon so I laid on the sofa and watched The Deer Hunter (1st time I've seen it from start to finish) And tomorrow Morning is busy as well and its supposed to be raining tomorrow aft and evening Bunnies seem to be staying tucked up in the afternoon at the cemy & paddock but as the weather improves I'll soon be knocking em over Phantom
  19. No thanks bud I totally detest camo underwear; much prefer the soft femanine colours in silky material and I like highleg cut not thongs Phantom
  20. This one Help and advice go in this section, general waffle goes in the banter and the spring and precharged is reserved for the write ups and pix of our hunting exploits and gorefests You put it originally in the main airgun, mod moved it for you Phantom
  21. For general work I use either AAF's or FX pellets. If I remember correctly the Biz Mags were developed for use in PCP's rather than springers? I got excellent results from AAF's in both PCP and Springers For back yardplinking at my knockdowns I use the Milbro Caladonions (got 5000 free when I got the springer) Don't think I would risk them for hunting though:thumbs: Phantom
  22. Yep, over penetration. And from that range Aaron, there was no chance of you not getting over penetration unless you were using a low power gun. If the pellet leaves the animal, then it takes whats left of the kinetic energy with it. If it stays in the animal then it transferes all its remaining energy into the animal as a shockwave. I have seen a bunny get a .177 Biz Mag straight through the brain and it still ran off. A second shot from a greater distance with the point of impact a little lower than the brain and the Biz Mag stayed inside the head is what killed it. My friend
