  1. Craig, That is FANTASTIC So very well written; Please give our thanks to "Scrapbooker" Phantom
  2. Thats the beauty of a regulator It will depend on Cal as well like, but a pcp has a "Sweet Spot" where the rifle performs at its most consistant. My S200 has a max fill pressure of (according to the manual 200 bar but according to the cylinder its tested to 300) When it gets to the sweet spot, I get 40 consistent shots, but I can squeeze out a further 20 if I compensate. If I had it regulated, I'd be able to shoot consistantly from the maximum fill, all the way down to the minimum cylinder pressure thus increasing my shot count by x amount. Do you shoot .22 or .177 I believe
  3. Yeah we are a pretty friendly bunch They have to drag me kicking and screaming into Hull, I detest the place. Sadly it's my local "Town" Mind you I think I'd think that about every city Phantom
  4. The Underlevers can be sweetened out no end Shot one a year or so back in Coventry at a UBC meet. It was fitted with one of those Tasco scopes. Was very nice and knocked over a metal bunny at 40 yards on the HFT lane. It was actually easier to shoot than my beautifull beast (XS19) Phantom

  7. Hello there Ray and welcome to this side of the forum If I were you, I'd approach the landowners who let you go lamping with the dogs, I'm pretty sure they would allow you to shoot on their land as you would be continuing to do them the favour of pest control Worth a try? Deffinately HOWEVER: First thing is first: Go find a club or range (as been said, everyone (well almost everyone) will be delighted to talk, show and let you shoot their pride and joy. Secondly handling a few different guns will allow you to decide which powerplant you like best, Springer, PCP or Co2.
  8. Thanks Bill, Last time I mentioned a Small Joke to someone in front of others (including his wife, who laughed her jugs off, the guy wouldn't talk to me for over a year Good job your sense of humour is as twisted as mine :11: Phantom

  13. Hey Soops You would be quite suprised how a pellet skirt expands as the pellet gets the blast of air up its butt Its this that enables the pellet to sit snugly into the rifling of the barrel. I know a few people who shoot these pistols and have used them in competitions with pretty good results For all pistol related stuff you need to pay a visit to the UBC forum. Get there via www.umarexboysclub.co.uk Phantom
  14. Very well done Gary As Wurz said, good choice and nice to see you thinking of your limits with the camera. The sign of a responsible shooter SP added to your count and I'm looking forward to your next installment The miss you can put down to False Wind (on account of the gun/scope being canted) While I'm here guy's dont forget that special thread thats going up Phantom
  15. Cheers buddy Maybe after I get back from Germany (off to stay with Si & Laura for a bit) I'll amass some pennies and get down to you. Last time I was in your area was July 96. Climbing Snowdon (not using the tourist route either). Suffered quite severe heatstroke on the way back down Jeez it was hot. Yet the following day it was persistantly precipitating AKA Pissing Down. Remember the day very well We thought the Mountain and S&R teams were on excercise on the Craig Goch Ridge. I found out a few days later that a man from London on a Team building excercise from the Met had
