    it ain,t as simple as the ground holding vast numbers of rabbits will guarantee vast bags, there were a good few gangs of ferreters on this estate when i first started,3 seperate lots of lads on 1 big field one sunday morning, some were happy catching 20 rabbits and going home, some wanted as many as possible and got good bags, some wanted good bags and got small bags off areas that could produce good bags, some would catch 6 rabbits and go to the pub, one father and son team would come every sunday morning got 20 odd rabbits off the same field and go home happy, we ended up ferreting the same

    markers are there to make sure you don,t miss a wire, i wouldn,t use them if i only had a handfull to check , but if your on with a couple hundred snares over a large area , then markers are essential, it also depends on the the terrain, even on fairly open ground its easy to miss an un marked wire never mind some of the stuff i set snares on at the end of the day its personnel preference, but try explaining to the keeper or a farmer when they find summit in your wires a few days after you pulled them and lamperman , less of the old, i,m still a young buck at heart

    insulation tape on fences, bright orange tape on top of a 18 " length wire for pegged snares about 8 ft away,

    for a busy farmer he seems to spend a fair bit of time on here, just look at the time of his posts, maybe an internet farmer that spends his time filling in subsidy forms while his stock dies in the fields and feeds the local fox population,simples

    rats will also cover food , i used to get it all the time with rat bait boxes, some of the stones carried in were bigger and heavier that any mouse could carry, exept mighty mouse or danger mouse obviously

    looks like theres dog prints next to its head, bad to tell, the ribs a fairly cleaned off, probably by a beak and some hair plucked , buzzard or crows, looks like a variety of critters have had a meal

    i love these new ideas , if it wasn,t for different folk thinking things up we would still be living in caves, keep us posted as to how ya make the device and how it goes, i have no doubt that folk will add ideas to yours if they havnt come up with summit already

    had an email today of mr darcy explaining the problems , i,m assured the book will be sent out as soon as possible , this week hopefully, its good to talk

    just got an email of mr darcy , to tell me the book will arrive asap and offered a refund (more than the warrener ever did) so it will arrive at some point in the not to distant future, i hope its worth the wait
