  1. Funny thing is,after typing the title i did think,it might confuse. You could always ask them if they could get you some. Imagine pulling that out the oven at christmas. thats got me thinking.
  2. Honestly mate,i've been shooting on and off for 30 years, these are good for nothing,i wouldn't even use one for plinking.
  3. Absolute s***e,crap build quality, crap seals, lubed with used engine oil, crap accuracy, recoil on a par with a feckin Howitzer, etc etc.If you want a cheap gun to get started, buy a decent second hand gun.A mate of mine who tinkers with guns, spent 6 months trying to get one of these to a useable standard,it never happened.
  4. Just no pleasing some folk, poor bloody dog.
  5. Just came out of my local asda, and found this beauty lying in the doorway.Didn't want it to get stepped on so i brought it back home with me and put it in the shed. What should i do with it ? Let it go,or leave it in the shed (hibernation?)

    rifle men

I think using lurchers is far more selective,ie theres more chance of taking old, weak,or injured foxe's,so in a way its more natural.Must say though,if i was a sheep farmer with a problem fox,i'd take the gun everytime.I've been shooting rabbits from the motor, and have squeaked foxe's in so close,i could probably have jumped out and grabbed it meself.JMO
  7. Cheers fish,i knew you'd come up trumps. No despatching them with the light sabre mind, thats just cheatin.
  8. I thought he was part lakie, nice looking dog.
  9. Cheers for the quick reply Monty, you've put my mind at rest a bit more now,as i was f*****g panicking to be honest. Thanks again.Bill
  10. Have just returned from the vet, after spending yet more money.Thursday i was walking the dogs, and noticed my 8 month old beddyxwhippet pup had the squits,no prob as sometimes they just do,and its gone next day.Friday morning she seemed ok,and i let my lad take her ferreting. She was her normal self, and he gave her the guts of a couple of rabbits. When he got her home she seemed a little under the weather, and still had the runs,so i gave her some goats milk with some honey and apple cider vinegar. She spewed this back up,so i decided to starve her for 24 hours.Today i took her out for a walk as sh
  11. Good stuff chubs, its good to see the kids gettin started young. My lads 19,but has been out withe me since he could walk. One of my daughters isn't interested in the slightest, but the other who's 10,has always been hunting daft, whether it be shooting, fishing, ferreting whatever. All the best mate.Bill P.S,i'm lovin the dogs name
  12. Don't attempt to shoot anything with it untill its been chronoed.Either take it to a gun shop,or buy yourself a chrono (£40 new) If its underpowered, then chances are it wont be up to the job,if its over 12ftlbs,you will at the very least be looking at a big fine, and worst case scenario,if you use an fac rated gun on private land, you'll be looking at big bird.It will not matter whether you bought it like that or not,the power output of the gun is purely your responsibility. Google the model,or look on the www.airgunbbs.com for info on your gun.All the best with it.Bill
  13. Some interesting replies. My old man always stretched/necked them, but when i was younger i simply didn't have the strength to use this technique,so i chopped them.Must be honest, ive never been a fan of chinning, and don't chop now,but i can assure any doubters,my brother is as clean and clinical at chopping them,as any stretcher/necker,chinner ive seen.At a guess,id say he's been chopping for almost 25 years.I'm with Ditch on this one, come on chalky and fish, show us yer stuff.
  14. Thought i'd start this topic, after reading another post. Would it be possible for the mods to put a sticky up explaining how to cull a rabbit properly,or maybe even a video? I neck mine, and my lad and my brother use the old karate chop.I was lucky,as my dad kept ferrets terriers and lurchers,so i was shown how to do things at a young age,but some kids have nobody to show them how things should be done.Vermin or not,i think your quarry should be despatched as quickly and painlessly as possible, and there is a right way,and probably a thousand wrong ways to do it.
  15. Nice pics mate, thanks for sharing them with us.That dog in the last pic looks well.

    TV licence

Your laptop or pc would be considered a television as far as that bunch of gobs***es are concerned. We pay our licence by direct debit on a quarterly basis, for this the c***s charge you an extra £12 for the privelege. My brother doesn't have a licence and never has, when they knock his door he just says "i dont have a tv bye" if they push there luck, they get told in no uncertain terms to "f**k right off now" Might try that technique meself.Another thing is buying tv's,dvd players, videos etc,the shop will forward your details to the licencing authority.
  17. I got stung to feck by wasps, after inadvertantly hitting a nest whilst clearing brambles from a warren.I thought id caught some nettles, but when i looked at my hand it was black with the feckers.I ran,and then sent my lad back to retrieve the fert box and tools
  18. Well done Haf,thats some catch of fish from the shore mate.I'm guessing it was up near the bridges if you were catching codling this early? Well done all the same mate, and leave a few in there for the rest of us.

    Cider

Do any of them still put horse flesh in the vats?I was working near cheddar a few years ago and we had some in a brewery come pub place.I commented on how nice the cider was ,and he said it was because it was made the old way with the horse flesh, kind of gave me the  but i had a few more.

    dew claws

I thought the dew claws were there for hunting,ie getting a hold of the arse end of the prey.Dew claws grow in a tight curve (a hook). If you watch wolves hunting moose etc, they will pull it down from the rear by hanging on to it with the dew claws, and if partly subdued there teeth.None of my old mans lurchers were dew clawed, but it seems to be the done thing nowadays.I've only ever seen one dog go lame from damaging dew claws, but i've seen dozens laid off with damaged feet.My brother had a whippetxgrey, that spent most of its time limping on all fours after a nights lamping. No doubt, theres an
  22. Yes Kay,it screamed after you said "if i give you a kiss, will you turn into a handsome prince ?" Couldn't resist.
  23. Heres my wee beddyxwhippet bitch Skye,8 months old. She's just started comin out with the ferts, and has had a few bolters.
  24. The scientific facts that prove its better for the dog, would be coming from vets, who are making money doing the ops.Its like a dentist saying that having your teeth looked after is a waste of time,if they did they wouldn't make any money.
  25. If it was that simple, they wouldn't be able to get away with selling deionised water for 60p a litre.
