  1. Yes mate,he looked very sharp at the start, but i think he just got a bit disheartened. He hit Pavlik with some fearsome shots, and Pavlik just walked through them.
  2. Nice bit of ground,i reckon you and Millet must be offering extra's to get all this permission.
  3. Same here gnasher, but no one can argue it was a fluke.Pavlik said in press interviews "i dont care what taylor brings to the fight,i'm gonna walk through it and knock him out" Job done
  4. Here we go fight fans, its in 5 parts i think, here is part 2 with the start of the fight.Be quick,as no doubt the powers that be will remove the video from youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Umhr9q2UYic Edited to say,the picture comes on after a few seconds.
  5. I've boxed, and been involved in boxing for years, and i always thought a good boxer, will beat a good puncher. That was untill i seen Kelly Pavlik demolish Edison Miranda. Now i should of had a few quid on Pavlik yesterday, because i thought he could do the same to Jermaine Taylor, but i bottled it at the last minute For those of you who haven't seen the fight,i wont spoil it,but its a f*****g cracker. Not sure if its on youtube yet,but its well worth a watch.
  6. I've never had much luck fishing the equinox tides, but then again the places i fish are pretty much unfishable on large springs (Bristol channel,Lincolnshire coast)
  7. If its varnished/laquered,take it to a french polisher or antique restoration place. They'll probably have a dip, that'll strip it back to bare wood, should only cost a fiver at most.Get it home give it a rub with some wire wool, and a wipe with some meths, and leave to dry. Then get a very small amount of danish oil,and work it into the stock.Just keep building coats up.Oiled stocks, hide the knocks better, and are more weather proof.HTH's Bill
  8. Its a Diana mate, good tool in its time.
  9. Nice gun mate, forerunner to the harrier (my gun) if you have alook on the daystate owners club site, there is a database. You can put the guns serial number in,and it'll tell you when it was made and what fill pressure and pellet they used when testing it.
  10. aye that pish is still on the go,anyone remember clandhu or scotchmac the wine and whiskey mixes  I remember my mother having wee bottles in the cabinet called "wee maclens" don't know whether they were the same kinda stuff, but they were there for years, never got touched.
  11. Davenports, saved your shoes if you was an piss head. I remember colt 45,Tuborg lager, and i remember me mates old mans home brew he reckoned the barrels were leaking
  12. He'd had a two year old dog for two weeks?Surely the dog needs time to get to know its new environment. As already said, bone's seem to bring out the worst in dogs.when my dogs are eating they keep there distance from each other, should one of them stray, all f*****g hell breaks loose.I certainly wouldn't have put the dog in that position, especially if he has young kids.It takes time to get to know the dog(more so with it being an adult dog) and time for the dog to get to know you.Bringing an adult dog straight into your house,is a recipe for disaster. jmo
  13. Shot, my brother had a whippetxgrey a few years ago,use to come back hobbling after as little as two or three runs.Old gypo that used to let us run the dogs on his fields, told him to give the dog plenty of roadwork,he said it would tighten the dogs feet up.It was a different dog after, hardly ever had bother with it again. Before that my brother only used to walk the dog for 15 mins before work, and run it two or three nights a week.
  14. One dog ginge,i've tried two. Most runs when ferreting are over quick, and the dogs end up getting in each others way.
  15. 5mm ply will bend enough to make a bow back box.The bow in mine is about inch and a half.I put a small brass screw top and bottom,at one end,a bead of wood glue along the join, and then just get someone to hold the first couple of inch's,and start pinning it,i used 18mm panel pins. When you get to the end, stick another couple of screws in,job done.
  16. Here's mine mate.I made it out of some marine ply i had kicking about. The dimensions are 16"x8"x8"and the doors are 5"x4".the top, bottom, and ends, are 12mm and the front and back are 5mm flexi ply.I also used some 18mm batons on the end plates just to make it a bit more rigid and durable. Its been used and abused for a couple of seasons now,and my lad use's it as a seat when its wet,so it's fairly solid. Will hold a couple of ferrets comfortably .
  17. You bloody wait,i'm giving them your postman.
  18. Cheers Millet, seem to have tracked down the feeding spot, there was a bag of unused groundbait in my net bag I,ve removed the food source, and i've put traps down, but if poison is the way to go,i'll give it a go.We have ivy all up the front of the house, could this be the route into the attic? Ps is it warfarin they still use on the rat? where do i get it? Thanks again.Bill
  19. And there was me thinking you were gonna give me a sensible reply with some pest control tips.Should of bloody known better.
  20. The two he had are gone i'm afarid, sorry i took so long getting back to you mate.If i hear of anymore i'll let you know.Bill
  21. I have been awake since before 5am.Have imagined i've been hearing scurrying and scratching in the loft for weeks now,but i wasn't sure. Now i am! i can here scurrying in fits and starts, and like a scratching come knawing sound from above the bathroom. The house is less than 10 years old,and we're not dirty feckers, but we had neighbours who were. The neighbours had the house reposessed about 3 months ago, and its been empty since. They also left a lot of old furniture and stuff in the garden and some in the house. What should be my first line of attack,i'm gonna have the day off work and try and

    IF?

No goverment has the right to take away our free will.We live in a democracy (apparently) and if the majority say they don't like something, then we've had it.Yes the money the "weekenders" spend with the hunt's,does feed the horse's, and pay the wage's,but it won't save our sport.Would you fight alongside the ratters and ferreters to save there sport,or your own? Good luck to you and enjoy what you're doing.I here the hunt's are doing better business now than pre ban. Edited to say, thats my twopenny worth on this topic.I always find that politics, makes people who generally get on with on

    IF?

Good luck to you huntsman270,i admire your passion mate, and each to there own.I never called anyone a snob You know and i know, that you get the "weekenders" on horse back, they don't give a monkeys about hunting, they just have the money to buy a ride.Unfortunately thats the image of hunting portrayed by the media, and as hard a pill to swallow as it may be,thats why hunting with dogs was banned.Riding a horse after the hounds isn't wrong, but it don't float my boat.I'll keep doing what i'm doing, and the all best to you and yours. As for being negative,i've never ducked a fight in my life,i just d
