  1. Good post Snoop I've a slip lead here that i paid good money for at the Waterloo a few years ago.Looks great, and works great till theres any pressure on the mechanism, then its a nightmare to try and release. I just use a cheap inch wide web lead, with a loop at each end.My pup walks great on the lead, doesn't pull and sits at every kerb, but once you get the lamp,or the ferts out with you,she nearly pulls the arm off me.
  2. I'd be very carefull when putting Peroxide on any wound.Peroxide comes in different volumes (strength) and could do some real damage.I would imagine the stuff they are using to clean wounds would be 2% or even less.DO NOT APPLY BLEACHING STRENGTH PEROXIDE FROM A HAIRDRESSING SUPPLIES.
  3. my pup has been coming out since she was 8 months, and catching bolters since the first day she was out.I introduced her to the ferts as soon as she would respond to basic commands, and never had a problem.
  4. Sad fact is Frank,we all know the type of people who are stealing the majority of these dogs, and there never in one place long enough for the police to be of any use.
  5. Too many near misse's with the dog thieves to leave mine outside now.Kennels are well secured, but i've seen the lengths these b******s will go to,to get your dogs.Mate and his neighbour had fence panels lifted, and the locks bolt cropped, his dogs weren't anything special, but thye still went to all that trouble, but luckily they were interupted. On more than one occasion i've had c***s pull up in transitsand start looking over into my garden, when i've pulled them up its always "just seeing if you've any scrap you want rid of".Mine are out in the garden, but at night, and when the house is empty i br
  6. Ox heart, beef heart, same thing (good point why do they call ox tail, ox tail, and not beef tail)Not sure if it would fatten a dog up,as its very lean, with just a bit of fat on the outside, but it is very rich.My dogs love it,and i've tried it myself (cooked) and its not too bad at all.
  7. Chalkwarren,do not be worried about buying a second hand bottle, especially if it has been (surface use only)A new 3 litre 300bar bottle will cost you around the £200 mark, second hand you'll only pay half that if not less.Any seller with half a brain will state whether the bottle is in test or not.Your bottle will need testing every two years (visual) and full pressure test every five.If its surface use only,it will only need testing every five years. When tested the bottle will be stamped, with a test date, therefore you wont have any worries about whether the bottle is in test or not.As for bot
  8. My Daystate gives 70- shots a fill,i have a 3 litre 232 bar bottle,i get 15 fills from the bottle, and the bottle costs £2 to fill.Pump will sicken you in no time if your shooting a lot
  9. Spot on Brummy, like the look of that dog
  10. Guess we'll have to delay our applications for Mensa then eh ditch ? I asked a mate of mine and he said that it can be done, something to do with overiding the auto settings,as the delay is while the camera decides whether the subject, light, focus, etc are ok.I've litterally tried every setting, and read the manual cover to cover (and its more war and peace, than instruction pamphlet) and still i get the pause. If it comes to you in one of your post guinness meditations, let me know the answer. Thanks anyway Ditch.
  11. Right a few years ago when cameras had film in,i used to take a few pics with my om10,which in the early 's was a reasonable tool.Since cameras have gone digital i've just used a point and click camera. Its a samsung sommat or other 7mp,it cost over £300 when i bought it 3 years ago,but the thing is the shutter delay is doing my nut in.In the pics below the pup was no more than 15 feet behind the bunny, but when i press click,by the time the shutter has gone off the bunnies are out of frame. The camera has a million settings, and i've tried them all (sports, children, night, etc etc) but still there
  12. If the dog is active,he'll need more than just chicken.Chicken is alright as a maintenance feed, but isn't enough on its own for a working dog.Try adding some red meat, breast of lamb,ox heart, shin of beef, are all pretty cheap.Try asking your butcher for some meaty bones as well.If you have a morrisons near by try there, they sell lamb bones for pennies.
  13. My brother was doing a patio job,and told me about this squirrel he'd seen climbing up the pebble dashing of some nearby flats, and obviously lording it in the roof space.I took the camera up just before dark and got these.
  14. My mk1 goe's mental when near wire fences.Last time out the fert entered and then made his way along the tube towards a mesh fence,as soon as i got within 10 feet of the fence, the locator started squealling, and would detect feck all.Another thing i've noticed is if the soil is sandy, the readings are all out,i.e when the fert is 2 feet down the locator reads 4or5 etc.
  15. My lad was an under 19 member till this year.He got lots of goodies,in fact they sent his members pack and insurance 3 times All joking aside, its a good deal for free, but gets a bit pricey after that, especially if your proper old like me Sounds good on paper, but i think they push most of there funding towards the shotgun and tweed brigade.I was a member for a few years but cancelled this year, got sick of them tryinfg to sell me opera tickets, and asking me to sell raffle tickets.I like the sound of S.A.C.S might be putting a cheque in the post.
  16. Yeh and he threatened to kick my arse Hows yer head today lloyd
  17. Wouldn't put that shite near any of my bitches.Seen dogs ruined after having that shite. As said it can stop the bitch ever coming back into season, and has been linked with some horrible disease's.
  18. My terrier bitch came into season when she was 8 months old,it took 3 months for the vulva and teats to go back down. She also started losing fur,it would fall out, grow back, and fall out somewhere else.I tried the vet and they couldn't sort it,i put her on one 500mg capsule of Evening Primrose Oil,every other day,and touch wood not had a problem for 3 months. Edited to add link. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=27887
  19. The environment agency have issued a flood warning for Scotland and the Border counties.Rivers lakes and waterways were reported to be at bursting point, after 8 million Scottish people pissed themselves laughing at the England teams performance against Croatia.
  20. its rimadyl mate Thats right,as far as i know,Rimadyl is ibuprofen.
  21. One of my lurchers smashed a leg a few years ago,the medication they gave her was CARPROFEN,now i'm not 100% certain, but i'm pretty sure thats some form of ibuprofen.
  22. I'll reserve judgement untill the final whistle (i still think England will win) but in the meantime. ENGLAND
  23. Can't speak from personal experience (i always chrono my guns) but i know of 4 people who have had there guns seized and tested. One had a falcon running at 18ftlbs,none had fac,and none were jailed.I'm sure theres sombody who knows somebody who got 5 years for being in possesion of an air rifle that was 12.001 ftlbs, but i've never heard of it.Like most crimes, there is a maximum sentence,so would be dependant on a lot of factors i would say.
  24. Shop would never admit to anything, and its the owners responsibility to make sure the gun is at sub 12ftlbs.Take it back to the shop and give them s**t,then when you collect it,have them show you in person that the gun is at the legal limit.
  25. My beddyxwhippet will mark, and work cover, just like a terrier,as well as doing her main job.
