I wouldn't mind sharing a pint with him i read his autobiography and realised i had him all wrong. If your talking about "fieldcraft" he'd make most of us look like rank amateurs. He used to use it to fill the pot and earn a few quid, and now he uses it to film wildlife,i don't see what the problem is with that.
  2. For those who were interested in joining at the discounted rate of £20,i now have 15 names on my list,so all being well we should be able to form "The Hunting Life Club" and become members of the SACS.I have pm'ed and email'ed Foxgun Tom,and as soon as he gets back to me,and gives me the go ahead, ill pass on the details to all those interested.Bill
  3. Thanks for an honest answer Little Lurchers,i wouldn't want anyone to run there dog at risk to prove a point. The point i was making is this,i don't think your average IG would be fit for field work.imho
  4. Cheers lads,i've 10 on the list so far so looking good, keep them coming folks.I will pm Foxgun Tom,and try and sort it out for the first week of January if that is ok with everyone.
  5. I'm a saddo with no mates.
  6. Logun penetrators ain't much cop imo.Thing to remember with spring guns is lighter pellets give better results power wise. What calibre is the gun? .177,or .22
  7. Looking well mate, the middle dog is the spit of my wee whippetxbeddie bitch.Shes 11 months now.Came from another forum member.
  8. My present insurance is due for renewal in January, and as you may or may not know, the SACS will offer a discounted membership if 8 or more members join (this way we are deemed a club) From what i have read and heard from other members the SACS offer as good if not better cover than the larger hunting/shooting bodies, and at a much cheaper rate. The full adult membership is (i believe) £28,but if we join as a club (8 or more members) this price drops to £20.I have 15 forum members interested at the moment,so if anyone is interested please get in touch, and we can all save a few quid.
  9. so will this be ok for someone coming from england, who shoots fac air rifles and uses a dog will all be covered, and are you not just a supporter with no benifits. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=27427 No worries mate,i'll stick a post on the sacs sticky as well,as soon as we get 8 we can get Foxgun Tom to start the ball rolling. ok bill that sound fine to me,count me in my son also shoots with me but only being five years of age is not a member of the hunting life but could he be automatically covered.regards lone wolf No worries mate,i'l

  11. Not much you dont what was you on the other nite , bishops cock or summat Some bugger must be using my name,i'm a tee totaller.
  12. I'm no expert on these matters as i don't drink alcohol, but i heard from a chap that likes the odd tipple, plenty of water while your drinking, not after. Then in the morning two paracetamol (not asprin,or ibuprofen) orange juice, and a good fry up.Apparently fatty, sugar, and sodium rich food does help with hangovers.Happy new year
  13. They would freeze to death, need stitching back together, and would most likely snap all there legs. This is not a wind up up mate, these are toy dogs, and absolutely no use for any kind of quarry. I think Little Lurcher works hers on rabbit? I never say never mate, and like to keep an open mind, but i don't believe a pure Italian greyhound could tackle a mouse let alone rabbit.I'd love to be proved wrong so get them vids up
  14. Basc only care about the "Tweed brigade" if you use shotguns then maybe, but for air rifles, and dogs, its got to be SACS. Edited to say,my present insurance expires in January, and i will be joining SACS.Its £28,but if 8 of us from this forum join together it will only be £20 each.I have myself and two others interested,so if five others join we can all save £8.
  15. Not acurate enough, and not powerful enough.

  17. They learn fast mate,my wee beddiexwhippet has been coming out with the ferts since she was six months old,and is like an old pro now,at 11 months. She was well broken to the ferts, but was still at bit skittish if the fert came out to quick she would fly over to it,but thankfully she never grabbed any of them. Now she doesn't move unless a rabbit comes out,and she stands further back, and is far more patient. All the best with yours mate.
  18. If you want to make sure mate, take it to someone who knows.Mine had a swim in the washing machine,i took the battery and sim out and left in the airing cupboard for a week,it all seemed well, then started turning off unaided.I had a mate check it for me,and even though it seemed dry,and was working, when he split the case, the circuit board was still covered in drops of water and condensation,he left it open and dried it again, fingers crossed, its back to normal.HTH's
  19. Sorted Must be a record 12 minutes.
  20. Looking for an air rifle for my brother, has a wee rabbit problem on his farm,he's at mine on holiday till tomorrow so would have to do a deal today.Anything in good condition considered (up to £200) im in the West Midlands and it would have to be face to face.Cheers,Bill
  21. Looking well, and coming on well just like i said he would. All the best to you and the family for christmas and the new year, from me and mine.Bill
  22. F**k me this gets better by the minute They'll be arguing about BP putting Bull into them next. All this fussing and fighting over a russell x.
  23. All bitches are different mate.My terrier bitch came into season at 7 months of age,and i have a beddyxwhippet that is almost 11 months, and hasn't come into season yet.My colliexgrey would come into season every 12 months regular as clockwork.Bitches can also be influenced by other bitches i.e. not unusual for a group of bitches kept together,to all come into season at the same time.
