  1. I know they were bred for work Chris, the pot lickers bit wasn't directed at you or your dogs. Although I THINK YOU KEPT THE WRONG ONE !! Only kidding matey. Dont drink to much at the show, and keep an eye on Davey Crocket, he goes to pieces when his mrs ain't there to look after him.lol. atb B
  2. She does look like her dam, you can see that colouring in her as well, unusuall. YOU KEPT THE WRONG ONE .LOL I hope they both turn out to be good workers for whoever has got them, theres no room for pot lickers in the working dog dog scene. ATB B
  3. Nice bitch, is her coat wet or is it the wheaten hard coat mix coming thru??. Nice bitch though. You kept the wrong one cbx.lol. I bet you were waiting for that one mate . Best of luck with it fella. B

  7. smear your chops with chainsaw chain oil, they'll only land once, works for midgies, dont go in strong sunlight though, else you'll fizzle like a chip. B
  8. Theres so many different if's or but's on both sides of this discussion. No different sort of terrier or any specific breed is required. BUT, hunt terrierwork does often require a dog that will aggravate more and stay just off his foe, giving him the opportunity to bolt, and also by using this type of dog, is useable three days a week as opposed to once every three weeks once out of sick bay. But every hunt terrierman will have at his disposal one of these full backs, if all else fails. There is a use for every sort of working terrier. A lot of working terriers have cut their
  9. Well I just gotta put my 2 penneth worth in here. I was always a traditional leather (collar ) man myself, but after a seasons work, proper work with all sorts of teeth marks cuts and abrassions on them, it soon works out quite expensive to replace them. I bought 1 1/2 SS collars back a few years ago and would never use anything else now. One I had to replace when my young dog managed to slip it off over his head overnight in the kennel and had a good chew on it, and even he didn't chew right through it, it's still useable, loks like its been through a rotovator, but it still fit for purpose
  10. IanB off here had a bloody good deal not long ago on the dovre mate, got a pair myself from many years ago, superb boot, but they reckon the lowa are equally as good. B

  13. Welcome to the site Cath. If you'd have said you were an 18 stone drey horse lookalike with a club foot, straight hair and curly teeth, there might not have been the stampede of testosterone charged replies that you have had.lo. But I would still have replied, I do like a challenge Have a great time on site, mix in and enjoy, you may have to swat a couple of members off but , hey ho, such is life.lol
  14. Welcome to the site. Have a look in the for sale section, go to dogs offered for stud, theres a couple of "in the blue " bred greyhounds available for stud in there. Alternatively, get earth dog running dog magazine and have a look at the at stud section there, theres an outstanding sort of greyhound for use there called mobbys lad or price cut, owned by a chap called Dave Sleight. If you look you will find one, take your time and choose wisely, not all greyhounds are the same!! lol hope it hepls you out a bit B
  15. yup i just read that now, hes even written the same lol defo the freelance guy imo "Yesterday" would have been the 8th of July, this original thread is dated the 7th of July, have a little think about it mate. And yes Wilf has got a valid point, theres a lot more freelance boys out there than Hunt terrier men, so the numbers voteing wouldn't be a fair balance, good point.
  16. If its the one in Pontop pike , Stanley mate, yes they are. Have a look in EDRD there's an advert in there with all the dates, names and contact numbers. B
  17. Is it a dpm pattern or realtree, what make and model is it AA?? Theres a lot of different sorts on that Kammo site. B
  18. Looks like the freelance terrierman is in the lead at the moment
  19. Kevin O'Donaghue is as good a judge as you'll get for this type of lurcher, he knows his onions. Regards B
  20. All reply's to this post have fair and accurate content in them, all are constructive, the question of rock pile work is a genuine one, that i honestly had not thought into the equation. One thing i will say from my own limited experience, I have had decent earth dogs and decent rock dogs, but a dog that is able to work a rock pile efficiently will always be able to work an earth, the reverse , however is not always the case. If you've got a good dog to find and deal with an opponent in rocks, he'll find anywhere, i dont care what anyone say's. Again, just my humble opinion. Regar
  21. Fair comment mate, agree 100%, I wonder after a few days how the poll will look ?. I hope it turns out to be an interesting topic, but most of all, stays costructive and true to the title. ATB B
  22. Right gents, this is a constructive question, no sarky clever arse remarks if you please. Regardless of name's , reputations etc etc, who in your opinion has or needs the best working terriers??, are we talking of hunt terriermen here or the freelance boys??. A question, a genuine question to all the terriermen out there. I look forward to all your CONSTRUCTIVE replies, and reasons behind them. All the best Bootsha

Couldn't agree more. Just scroll down to the bottom of the forums page and see all the members on line at the time, see how few are in orange as donators if everyone gave £5 then it'd no doubt be a big help in the running of the site. Can you get a pack of fags for a fiver these days, or two pints of beer?, 12 months worth of craic is worth every penny in my humble opinion. But its down to each individual to choose, its their perogative. Regards
  24. Gentlemen, having read this thread from the start, what was at the outset an interesting read, has degenerated into an adult style schoolyard quarrel. To whoever is reponsible for the start of the shit slinging, well done, you should be real proud of yourself, you did a great job. To the other readers of this thread that may have enjoyed it until all the handbag swinging started, notice on the bottom left hand side of the screen a button with report on it??, well if any replies cause offence or are either totally out of order or just put up to cause an argument, click on that button a
