Hi R12, Mine also works ok on standard mounts, however I have to wind the elevation very near to max and my gunsmith said this was far from ideal and I should buy the correct mount. (Any ideas where to purchase) Great scope with lovely crisp optics and a pleasure to use at dusk. (Not used yet for lamping) CBW

I use the Zeiss 6.5-20*50 conquest and recommend it highly however, 2 things you need to be aware of, It is quite heavy and it requires a special mount that I could not get locally. Photo in the 'your rifles' section Mr L, if you are local you are more than welcome to have a look through it. CBW

You can not have Plod as one of your referees Oh bugger, I forgot that.......Blame it on my age! CBW -

Oh bugger, feeling old now............

Thats great it means I can relax and enjoy returning a favour from many years ago. I remember his face a few years ago when he caught his first '30' on my carp gear. (same as my first double on his gear in the 70s) Now it will be his turn to shoot a few bunnies with my rifle!!!! It really is strange how things turn around!!?? CBW

I love the rifles, not so sure at the sofa!!! CBW

Deker, Being from the area where they use the punt gun I must give it a go!!!! Looks like a bloody canon CBW

As stated in my profile, it was my Father who got me interested in shooting and fishing, we did lots of shooting on Thornwood common and Carp fishing on North Weald (20lb Carp in the 70s!!!) Anyhow lets get to the point, I have spoken to two of my permissions that are interlinked and they both think its great that I am taking my elderly Father out for a couple of hours shooting. I am planning to take an air rifle and my rimfire, is it ok to let my Dad use my RF? I know we will not be seen or questioned and it was my Father who taught me field craft and how to handle a rifle. Is

I hate the remm. ammo, many missfires, swapped to Eleys and not had a missfire in 2000 rounds.

Excellent news!!! Get that bargain rifle rifle paid for ASAP!!!! CBW

Hi Sprags, I am also looking to request an open ticket as I have been asked by several local farmers to have a crack at their rabbits. Is that all you told them or did you add further info? Several farms have been added to my allowed areas, but a couple need to be surveyed and an open ticket would be ideal. Which county are you in? CBW

My kind of shooting......Excellent. Hope it cleared the mind and improved the mood! CBW

As Deker states, a lot of it will come down to what your local dealer stocks. Mine stocks Remmington for the rimfire and as some of you may recall I had a nightmare with these jamming and missfiring. I now travel some distance to buy my Eley rounds but I must say it is worth every bit of my time and fuel, I have now fired over 2000 shots without a single jam or missfire!!!! The Rems were jamming and missfiring with disturbing regularity. It really pi@@ed me off to line up a bunny to just get a click. The thing is I quite fancy one of their light weight rifles but if their

I am worried now!!! When I am out shooting I aiways pick up my spent .22 cases. These then get put in the recycle bin as I thought that would be the best way to dispose of them. Is this wrong or was it live carts your mate chucked in the skip? CBW

Same with me, I never expected to get my FAC but after being honest and frank with the FEO I got mine. My record is for posession of an offencive weapon in a public place, threatening behaviour, assault and a serious driving offence. They were some tima ago but I did still get asked about these. Go for it you have nothing to lose. CBW

I have to say after problems with remms in the early days after suggestions on here I switched to Eleys and I have not had a single missfire (2000 rounds) or jam and find them accurate. CBW

I got lucky with posting my Zeiss but then got caught with my hide thank goodness it was that way round as the vat on the scope would have been steep!!!

My FEO asked if I had any friends with rifles as he would like me to have a mentor for a short while. I answered honestly that I did not know anyone and he said that as I had owned an air rifle for many years and seemed like a sensible person it would not be neccessary. If you dont know anyone then maybe you will get the same treatment? Good luck

Hi Richie, I like the idea of driving to and from the targets! The swingers really get hit hard, I am thinking of getting a set, how well are they lasting? It looks as though a few more rounds and they will be knackered. CBW

I just could not sleep last night, I had awful indigestion so at 05:30 I decided sod it I'm going for an early morning walk with the rifle! I know its not a large bag, but three mid range shots and three kills, all head shots(really pleasing given my original loss of confidence when upgrading from air, thanks to those who helped in the early days) Got home just after 07:00 and no indigestion.........Now off to work

Hi, I have the Anschutz 1712 sporter heavy barrel, 2 stage trigger and the monte carlo stock. Obviously I like this rifle, find it really accurate and lovely to use, but have nothing to compare it with and with the ase mod and zeiss scope it did break the bank rather!!! See picture in the rifle section. I am in the Newmarket area and if your local your more than welcome to have a snout! CBW

Hi Deker, I was not sure so I pointed it into the air and fired a few rounds off........ No seriously all thankyou for your pointers on this it looks like I have not been cleaning the ase properly. I was advised to soak it in cleaner which I have been doing as they are buggers to strip, I finaly stripped it down and it was totaly clogged. I now have a clean ase!!!! CBW
