  3. how the heck did you know he was taking photos through the window im seriously impressed I think the clue is in the fact the guy said he had been shooting through a double glazed window

  6. we got something in common, i do photography for LACS part time, we may have met? Possibly
  7. I think it's a great idea mate and a good way of measuring your progress...like Romany I kept a lot of my early stuff for reference and to measure against what I'm doing now...I'm probably not as disciplined as him but it is a good barometer. Do a bit of research before hand on what you want to shoot and have a look at what other photographers have shot and how they went about it. Good luck and look forward to seeing the results.
  8. None of my family were into hunting....I just sort of fell into it as a kid...went my first ferreting trip as an 8yr old (in my slippers) and that was me....it just seemed a natural extension of what we did as kids ie bird nesting collecting frogs and tadpoles. We had a lot of freedom as kids to do what we wanted as long as we didn't cause trouble. I also remmber seeing some guys coming out of the local estate with a long stick on their shoulders with what looked like a dozen or so rabbits..that struck me as being very cool and I wanted to emulate it.....long time ago but still makes me smi
  9. That's a bit disingenuous Skycat gets a raw deal from the guys in here cause she's a woman...she's been in the game a long time and has probably done more than most of the lads on here. Who's talking about skycat? Can't be arsed going back through the comments tosee who said what...she was mentioned in a throw away remark by someone along the lines of if you want to know what;s wrong with your dog ask Penny...regards hunting ask JD. My point was that she has been in the game as long as a lot of folk in here ..probably longer and shouldn't be dismissed as easily as that...nothin
  10. Great stuff as always Bill love the LTT shot....got me camera again so hoping to get to Galloway around Thursday

  12. Well regardless of the price the one thing you can't aim at the man is he doesn't know what he's talking about...from the books I've read they appear to me to be written by a man with a passion for the working dog and telling it like it is....he walks the walk and talks the talk as far as I can see..credit were it's due
  13. Paulus try and find a bit to sit and wait and see what comes along....you'll be more successful and probably get closer to things, country parks are another good place to practice nice selection of waders who are used to people and you can get right up close. Keep at it
  14. I have seen the world from both ends matey, in the recession of the early 90s I was hod carrying for 3 brick layers for £15 a day.....that gave my old mum some house keeping and gave me a couple of quid for myself. Loads of lads said I was mental to work for that doing that type of work but I was happy to have it.......the lads that said they wouldn't work for that, guess what they did? They stayed home and stayed skint! It's got f**k all to do with looking down, it's called being realistic! On a more serious note it's commendible that you had a good work ethic that was no doubt in
  15. You don't get a tenancy at 15 certainly not in Scotland no arguement on the other two points
