i think its a case of bang a few in and then leave it month or maybe 2 and plant again trial and error mate. we got a few onions but some went to shat with white rot but i think they were to close to be honest -
yes Tel i do manure but not were we put the carrots, i got told they like manure so we didn't bother, its our first season as you will probably know but we have found that we need to get the timing/space it out a bit better when planting as you end up with stuff going to shit not the tatties mind as they store ok but more the brassica side of things

Senshyu Jack ? mine broke through last weekend. This over wintering is a bit of a test this year just to see what survives and if it gives a head start next year. not sure to be honest mate one set is called snowball i think and you could be right with senshyu as i put 2 sorts in trays i will check the packets when i'm down
