Well, im not an expert and neithers my dog but i love em...personally my dog has taken everything (except red deer) single handed..hunted in oxfordshire, ireland, scotland, lincolnshire, yorkshire, staffordshire, wiltshire, cambridgeshire, norfolk, durham, middlesborough, lancashire, shropshire, northhants and suffolk....and i like him.... i love the salkuki greyhound IF its the correct sort... You have nop doubt heard tales of dogs filling car boots with game...well, this type of dog can do that time and time again....good hunting JD

  9. hhmm...a funny question, but i bet it would be a gresat bait....as long as food and water/ shelter from weather was taken into account then i dont know if this would be a winner???....
  10. I tried for a while once to trap a fox in our garden...i never got it though...i had always thought that trapping them would be easy , but i didnt find it so. A mate of mine has trapped quite a good number in his garden though. Years ago my fathers shoot shelled out £300 for 2 traps..and they never set them!!! just left to rust! what a terrible waste.....good hunting guys...

  15. I managed to bag a nice munty buck yesterday evening...only a close shot of 30 yards...
  16. Hhhmmm...seems a funny first post...i have never, ever heard of a dog breaking both its legs on the same side and i cannot comprehend how this would happen. never-the-less, as long as the breakages are clean then there is no reason why your dog cannot be healed 100% back to standard by a competent vet. having had personal experience of such things i can say that the dog will be back to normal IF the operation is done correctly...J Darcy
  17. Its my skills with the camera that make the dogs look so good......even make peters arse look kinda cute

  20. i hunt for the hunt.......to see a good dog commit itself, to watch that "uncatchable" bambi roll over, to see that great retreive, to see a good fox hit the net, to hear the three notes "to ground", to see old puss sat deep in here seat and walk by leaving her in peace,to savour that rich foxy odour as we break through, to see the dog catch 3/3 or 4/4, to start the young, dumb pup off on its journey of discovery......and so much more
  21. Vim and myself had a walk the other morning on some of my extensive permission...his dog Bazza managed to bag his first munty and his first CWD....so a big well done to bazza..... in about 2 hours we bagged 5 CWD and a munty...its very good permision..

  23. Hi guys...interesting topic here. Obviously there are exceptions to the rule but most dogs can be taught to do the basics, sit, stay, heal, return to hand IF they have been trained to do so from a pup. Of course, SOME are just too flighty to be of any use to the general lurcherman. Unfortunately for me, i have seen a couple like this. Some sal/greys are very nervous, very timid and have an outlook on life that is negative to say the least. These types are of no use. But then again, i dont think this trait is totally unique to sal/greys for i have seen the odd dog that was totally useless and
  24. i have heard much about them , but would never slip my lurchers on one....
