a few pics from earlier this year...went to go and clear a small fishery off canada geese, but i missed the first shot and they all scarpered! not to worry..lol...so i bagged this coot for the ferrets.... only trouble was that i had to get it out of the cold water...
KKKEEERRRRRSSSPPPPLASHHHH!!!!!!
yes guys....it was a great place while it lasted..sunday evenings posting our weekend tally.....of failing dogs and uncatchable deer.....of the youngsters first time and that buck that didnt quite make it to the safety of the wood.....i am glad that it happened and we will probably look back on the place with fondness for some time to come....good hunting guys...JD
LOL...@ vim...yes mate, them knives keep flying but im such a boney critter they just cant seem to stick
Pat, yes mate, the squirrels go to my uncles ferrets though they dont like them as much as pigeons...
the last shot of the day was another squig, sat horizontal on a branch only offering the faintest glimmer of a shot window...i held the hairs on the top of its head and squeezed a pellet right into its little brain...it was humane....so, not a bad day really....in an hour or so i managed 3 squigs and 2 woodies....
we then managed to knock another woodie down......again , it landed deep in the holly and had to be fetched out.. poor scoob was not liking those prickles
scoob and i then got lucky and a fine stalk brought us to within killing range of a plump woodie..it fell into the holly bushes and scoob had to find and return back to hand with it.... prickly!
decided to have a walk this afternoon with the airgun..went into the cupboard for my pellets and was gutted to find i had ran out of the bisley LRG pellets i always use in teh AAS410.....so, i decided to use the logun penetrators instead and set off out. After a quick scoping in session i was putting pellet on pellet at about twenty yards and decided that i could bag some ferret food..... missed the first shot at a woodie! gutted there were loads in the old oak trees but after one shot they all took to the grey skies and flapped away.....scoob marked a tree and a squig was spied....HHHMmmm
2004....but i would like to pull them up on one bird,,,...they have the carolina wood duck as just "wood duck"
get this thing pinned up....or how about another section for wildlife related things>????....now that spring is well on its way...
a while ago i took a good mate of mine out onto my permission very early one morning for his first CWD,,,his dog did ok and nailed one up against a hedgerow....a nice buck....sweet..
good hunting...JD
