  1. Hello All, Im always outside amongst the wildlife, and I often wish I had a decent camera with me. Up to now I have just been using disposables and my mobile I want one that will take good action shots. Aswell as have a bit of zoom power. Dont want to spend too much, would consider a good quality second hand camera. What make/model should I be looking out for. Thanks Dogs-n-Natives
  2. I agree with you there Woodga. We ferret the same hedgerow holes every week, and there always used again. Also have found rabbits will move straight back in to warrens that have been ferreted. The ferret scent dosent seem to put them off.
  3. Cheers SS Thanks for the speedy dispatch, I love the collar, top quality!
  4. Ive fished it a few times when I was younger. Its stocked well with rainbow, and you might also find wild brownies. A good spot for the brownies is off the dam wall- just lower a worm down, like boat fishing. quite deep. Also the river derwent below the reservoir is good for brownies and the odd nice grayling.
  5. Dont know if your wanting them for fox snares? Heres what I do anyway, its free and simple plus they work well. Just find a few nice bushes of hazel, look for the straight sticks and cut them off at the base. Cut the sticks down to 18 inches long. Dont cut them all from one bush. I then put a slit into the fat end and a blunt point on the other. Your snare will sit in the split nicely, and if you want to make sure there held tightly then just whip a bit of garden wire around the split end using pliers to tighten. Just a tip (if your new to snaring), make sure your up to date with curre

  12. I think part of the reason that there not widely used in USA is that they are illegal to keep in some states, for fear of them escaping and hybridising with the native White Footed Ferret, and perhaps others. black footed Thats the one!
  13. Just to add my small amount of experience on the subject. My friends jill was living with his so-called 'snipped' hob, the jill had seven kits which grew up with both parents in the spacious hutch.

  16. I'll find out the price for you Martin
  17. You could probably train an irish wolfhound to track and mark a shot deer. But imagine a dog that size patiently following at your side when your stalking! Thats a lot of dog, so i would guess it would be a disadvantage. Nikey mentioned a Teckel. If I needed a dog for tracking/marking shot deer, I would be looking for a teckel to train up, from good working lines. Which are present in this country. And as far as I know they are versitile dogs and can do many other jobs if needed.
  18. Why dont you try dominating the sl...............her, for a change! She might like it !! If not......... lie back.............. and enjoy!!
