    corns on feet

does anyone have a good treatment for corns on greyhounds feet i have had to make up boots out of soft leather & foamrubber to ease pressure on bitches feet
  3. newspaper over the whole floor weld mesh over that to stop them scratching up, to clean take out mesh roll up paper job done.been using it for over 60 years with out a problem
  4. it's not the corn so much it's the cob that can can not be digested
  5. hi I made up one a few years ago using a car central locking system connected to a small 12v battery.I mounted a solenoid on every 4th pole so that each one pulled out 3 pins that way there was not to much pressure required. then dropped the net using the remote that came with the system I know this is a bit hard to follow so if I can find any photos I will put them on but it was a few years ago.system worked well where there was no cover & could be dropped from a distance
  6. Got my first ferret at 8 yrs old ,came home from school & mum said see had a surprise for me.She had found a ferret in her hen house & had put a drum over it ,bloody thing bie hell out of me.But I got a cage made ,a carry box out of an old banana case, & Dad showed me how to make nets out of any old twine I could find.I am now73yrs old & have never been without a ferret in the back yard.I have 10 at the moment but because of health problems they would not know what a rabbit looks like, but hope that changes soon
  7. also works on foot root in ferrets although you do not see it much these days
  8. reminded me of my childhood days in the 40's & 50's
  9. G'Day and welcome from Melbourne Oz I also hunt with springers & pcpair rifles
  10. hope you know that it gets into your blood .I got my first ferret when 8 years old am now 73 & have 14 working ferrets
  11. If you are able to build a cage ,you would be ok making a carry box, then if you check on the netting section you will find a net making pinned section.then to start all you need are the ferrets & shovel ,a locater can come later
  12. I have found the rabbits will run over the net with no trouble at all,it is ideal in orchards where a drop net can get caught on the trees.also can be set & left without being to visable.easy to makeup give it a go
  13. Have known Brian for quiet a while,He has stayed with me twice while holidaying in Australia. He introduced me to the quickset method also the dropnet & last time over helped me make up the lift system which I find very usefull in an area that has little cover, as you can lift from a long distance away . I also use his longnets that he brings over for me to try & have found them to be of good quality, Kevi
  14. had the outside back toe removed on my greyhound a few years ago ,has not effected her speed but she does tend to loose traction on sharp turns arse spins out a bit
  15. here in Australia,we get day after day of 40deg temp, I place a large bowl of water on top of each cage place a large towel half in bowl with a brick on top to keep it in water hang the rest of towel over front of cage .air will pass through working as an evaporate cooler.never lost a ferret or kit to heat stress

  20. Brian brinded is worth a try
  21. I just slip a sock over my terriers head and hold her tight, it seems to make her relax
  22. what part of Australia are you from.I'am in Melbourne & could lend you a few cage traps if that would help also have a locator,
  23. I Made up a drop net system triggered by a car central locking system working off a 12 v battery, set it up left it up for a couple of days, to let the rabbits get used to it. Went back in the night to drop it & found a bloody Kangaroo had hit full on and ripped a great hole in it. I also have made up a lift net designed by Brian Brinded which works like a charm set it up in the day go back in the night pull the cord & up it stands, then just walk the rabbits into it.
  24. G'Day Rob I'am also in Oz Victoria . spin up my snares using an old hand grinder (wheel taken off & a replaced with a hook) 3 strands of brass doubled in half ,on to hook 6 turns of grinder ,perfect snare.
