Defo did not bolt one holer, aye i dropped the dog back in but defo nowt in,i put the young bitch in and she showed no interest she hasnt seen anything herself yet except a few rags but she put her nose down then just jumped out.
Alright lads i was out yesterday with my old dog and young bitch, after finding nowt to ground i was heading home when the dog showed an interest in an earth not far from him so i put the locater on and dropped him in,i could he some bumps and a bit of digging as if he was trying to squeeze in a bit further about half an hour later he was baying i gave him another ten or so minutes and he hadnt moved so i started digging it was only a couple of feet when i broke through and there was f**k all there i pulled him out and had a look about with the torch so i widened the hole and pulled some more e
Having the same trouble just cant find a fox to ground for a young bitch yet when im lamping the same areas with mates im seeing foxes regularly there is a full street of bunny huggers down my way im sure they are putting them up in bedrooms during the day.
Just like tawny says get her to a place with plenty of rats about once she sees them flying about she will probably dive straight in only ever seen one terrier that wouldnt do rats, there is plenty rats around our local allotments at moment so if you have got any nearby ask for a bit of permission as long as the dog is okay with livestock most allotment holders will want rid of the rats id also make sure they havent got any poison down some of the stuff these old timers pull out a tin from back of the shed would kill bears.
Year of work with all my bills paid but i will settle for some socks that my stepson will not wear his feet are three sizes bigger than mine and i spend all day trying to keep them from ending up all gathered at the bottom of my riggers.
Nowt lying down here yet but wor lass was just uo the road at consett today she says it is lying there so im hoping it freezes tonight and we get some lying here.
Good one i still cant find out to ground had a walk out this morning nowt about hopefully itll be different tomorow with all this rain and snow coming down today
Lads round my way have a proper selection i prefer black uns but my mate is into russels i know another lad withborders
it seems the young uns want nowt but hard as nails pats.
Think hatton will win but only if he gets some good of his hard body shots in the first couple of rounds to show maywether he means business, saying that im putting money on it going all the way with Ricky winning.
Good pics useful looking terriers, had a walk out this morning but didnt find anything at home hoping to start a young bitch but no look so far all this rain should put a few to ground though.
Dogs first then ferrets and mucking about on the allotment, every man should have one, its a place i dissapear to when wor lass is moaning, mostly shouting, ALL YOU THINK ABOUT IS THEM DOGS, all good fun.
Can anyone think of any bullshit they heard about working dogs they were told or read,i can remember reading all sorts of stuff about how saluki crosses had no brains, wouldnt retrieve or anything,i can still remember the first time i seen a one work,i was waiting to see this lad slip his dog and it would run off into the distance chasing everything away to say i was surprised is an understatement it caught six hares that night along with numerous rabbits and all delivered to hand.
I would say it depends on the age if the dog is still young it might start using a bit of brain and start baying but personally i think generally once it gets a taste of the quarry and it likes what its doing nothing is going to stop it,i personally wouldnt change the breeding if your dogs are grafting well
Got an old pat/laky cross that has done everything ive asked of him,got to be honest and say that i prefer lakys not some big name breeder just a dog that has been bred right but then again you still get failures, cant really comment on other breeds as i havent seen them work over and over only the dogs ive tried i had a bedlington years ago,not putting the whole breed down but that dog was enough to put me of that breed for life and he came from a big name in the breed at least that is what i was led to believe,so now it is a case of if i like the look of the parents or i have been told from s
Just left school and i went out with two mates with air rifle and lamp and i thought it was shite, but luckily i gave it another go with a different mate and his two lurchers after that it was ferreting lamping and just mooching about we never really got much but it was brilliant, later on in life i discovered what terriers were meant to do and never looked back.
Two really good looking terriers Kipo hope they graft as good as they look,i,ve got an old pat/laky cross and he still has got a mind of his own,but i find a bit of stubborness isnt a bad thing, you cant get him out a earth unless you dig him.
Was ferreting in scotland with two mates every time i went to put a net on this hole it was like de-javu but my two mates were pissing themselves laughing every time i went to put the net on i kept getting a zap on my head from an electric fence, mates didnt tell me until id done itabout five times
I now what you all mean but my angle is slightly different, ive got an old patxlaky and he is a proper b*****d with other dogs so i tend to walk him were im pretty sure there is no one else around however now and again we bump into someone so my dog is put on the lead but the other idiot will leave their dog of and say its alright its friendly but you cant tell them that my dog is a c**t it normally ends up with me having to lift my dog while the other one is jumping all over me.
