Iv seen a few deerhound greyhounds over the years n all had Temps to die for however all was found wanting on a good hare, I have seen a couple of deerhound Lurchers that was alot better than the 1st X.
Would've been nice to see him over a pure saluki as you don't see many 3/4 breds these days n if you get lucky n they can be great if you manage to get a good one.
Steel be better but never had a problem n mine just spit them out anyway ting ting in the crate as there eating, if your worried tho you can just breast them.
For anyone who's on a budget n wants to feed whole carcass or just to add meat to there dogs diet go round to your local shoots n they'll usually give you some pheasant partridge n duck n takes minutes to pull the skin off them n job done good clean scran.
Sorry to hear that I was only mentioning her to someone the other day who'd of thought a poem could do what she did as you say an exceptional little dog that punched well above her weight n what a life she had..
Think it's not just dog food but our food as well dan processed food is full of stuff we don't need to keep it fresh etc even bread feck knows what they put in it to keep it fresh for days n mold off we're as homemade bread is done after a day eh.
You always fed well I remember that mincer you had n you'd put hares through it do you still have that, you fed the dogs 3 times in 24 hours as well after shifts if remember right.
It's full hard days mate but of course your quite right and it's the gundogs I work 5 times a week the Lurchers couldn't handle full shifts like that as you say but having said that it's still a huge work load for the spaniels n takes alot to keep them right like.
