  4. Just spent an hour on the phone to an Elderly uncle (86).... Its always great to chat with him.. He was more of a father to me when I was growing up.   10. If it shoots......................it shoots... Dont break it, if it aint fixed. You say zeroing....what is grouping like ? Which model Sauer have you got? I had a Sauer 202 synthetic, which was a great stalking rifle, it screamed build quality from the metal work, but i was a little disappointed at the flexible fore end to be honest. Matty
  11. Firstly I dont have a .17, but i have considered one for long range varmint. I think one point that is being overlooked in the pro's department is the flat shooting trajectory, which can ease extended range shooting over 200 yards, which is my current self imposed rabbit range with my Hornet. I cant reload my Hornet for .20p so good luck if you can a .17. The heads are £22 / 100 to start with. a primer is 0.03p and powder works out about 0.06p Flatter shooting, means you can be less accurate with your range estimation and makes taking shots quicker.   18. I have been asked for a couple of years to help out at the BASC young shot days in Scotland. Well this year do to unusually high peer pressure, I gave in Now its no secret that I am not BASC's biggest fan, but I do agree with their young Shots program of events, and the Gentlemen organising the event from the Scottish Ferret club is a friend of of mine who I shoot with in the winter.
