Basil, the 2 in the incubator will stay there, as its at a mates and he has other eggs in there. The hen is still laying & im replacing with chicken eggs till she goes broody.

Bad luck and judgement on your part Tuffty. There might be another side to this tale though, was the fella you passed the dog onto FULLY 100% knowing that it was loan only? Maybe you assumed that he knew this but in actual fact he assumed he was getting the dog because you didnt have anywhere for it and no hunting for it. What has happened to that border you had? Hope it all works out and at the outcome the terrier is working wherever it is.

Got another lunch time, so put a regular hen egg under her and now her 2 will be in a mates incubator after egg washing tonight.

I think there is discount for clubs ordering like 10 and them all getting delivered to the same address.Dont know of anything since that. But they are definatly a vast change from the grey box. Has anyone got feedback on the new plastic casing material for the collar, meant to less brittle where it screws in.?

Ive got a folded alimunium triple box, with ply dividers. Even though im a carpenter & if I didnt have the aluminium box id still have one of Wilky, only seen pics but I think hes got making them down to a 'T'.

Got a cock and a chicken yesterday, the hen was already laying and this morning she presented me with another egg; which ive taken and is now safe in a box. Fingers crossed tomorrow or the next day ill get another. I want to try and get enough for her to bring on some chicks, some question is, shall I see to see if she will lay some more and once I know she hasnt gone off laying put this first egg and whatever others back under her? Is this the right thing for me to do? If she dont lay no more a mate is setting some eggs up in a short while and he'll have some room. Im told the 'strain' is
