Friend of a friend has 2 ducks she wants rid off, asked me if I wanted them. Apparently they are ducks for eggs, but doubt if they will lay right now? Anyone keep ducks, is it worth it, or shall I just fatten them up? Thanks in advance.

I make you right Neil. Anyone who already does a bit of what the programme is about will easily pick holes in the programme, but the program is designed for the general public, even though it may be a bit like looking at something through rose tinted glasses. The first ever episode was a commercial venture, anyone who thinks someone would make a warts an all series for free is naive. On the whole its a positive program on rural living including some fieldsports.

I like Kasabians Processed Beats, but the only sound I wanna hear when hunting is the sound of hounds lifting their quarry, the sound of a terrier cracking upcoming from a hole as it meets its foe, or the crashing of cover as I lift the barrells.

You have been out with the wrong spaniels then I don't shoot and my spaniel was bought up with lurchers I'd say over a season she probably accounts for as much game as the other dogs. Must admit I've no experience of small hounds though. I looked into getting a Teckel years ago, what put me of though was the stories of them turning a 'deafy' and hunting miles infront. This is the last time i took my spaniel out by herself, i was ferreting but she caught this one by herself.....perhaps i haven't been out with the wrong spaniels She is a good dog and reasonable at hunting and taking
