Which man Seany?

Ive got 3 young hobs, 2 albinos about 12 weeks and a poley about 15 weeks. The albinos are brothers and similar size, one slightly bigger. The poley is about twice the size of the biggest albino. Ive never seen any aggression and they all sleep in a hammock together but they "rough play" alot and drag each other about by knecks. The smaller albino has got a few small scabs on it's scruff and by shoulder blades. Not too bad just little teeth marks like. But the bigger albino has got a big raised scab about the size of a 20p piece. I think the albinos are battering each other, th

If you know where to shop then it's no dearer than a good bag of dry really and doesn't take as long as you might think. I recently outlined my feeding regime in this thread... http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/212729-raw-meat-based-diets/page__pid__2183953#entry2183953 I had alot of help producing my current feeding plan from a much valued forum member Gaz

New to the running dog world, gets 2 x Bull Cross pups and calls himself SAVAGE DOGS. Lol.

I really Like the wheaten crosses and fancy a 3/4 Grey 1/4 Wheaten bitch at some point. Are there many well bred wheaten crosses about? And are they easy to get hold of? Gaz

What and when do you lampers feed your dogs on a lamping night? I've heard various opinions, from running a dog on empty stomach which hasn't eaten since the evening before to lads who feed pasta 4 hours before. Also what about when you get back? Are the dogs fed before they are kennelled down or left until morning? I personally feed morning and night so would it be wise to run a dog at say 11pm which hasn't eaten since 8am? Or would an additional meal at 4pm be a better option? Also I think they need a meal when they get back from a nights Lamping and after 20 mins or so in t

Alright 3 Turns, Can you elaborate on your reasons for not feeding raw? Not having a pop at you in the slightest, just curious and I very much think "each to there own" when it comes to feeding. What do you mean when you say your mate has been scrubbing scitters constantly? And what do you mean by 1 n half rabbit dog? You implying that raw fed dogs are too heavily built? Just curious as I say, your reply surprised me. Ive just switched back to raw after 6 months on the dry for convenience. I can sometimes work 14 and 16 hour shifts so on these days it was getting a pain in the

Just watched that video stealthy. Much appreciated pal, that's spot on :-)

I've got 3 x 12v 9ah Batteries here, brand new and boxed. My uncle got a batch for fire alarm system installations and these are surplus. Similar to these here - http://commtechnologies.co.uk/search.asp?search=&offset=72&prod_id=201 £12 each, may deliver north-west area. Gaz

I switched my dog back to raw last week after feeding redmills and Sneyds for about 6 months for convenience. His dry, dull, dandruff covered coat is starting to look shiny. His energy levels have gone through the roof. And he's gone from doing 4-5 huge mashed potatoe like stools to just one small stool consisting of 3 or 4 cocktail sausage size lumps. So i no longer spend half an hour each day cleaning the yard as he just does one on a walk so I spend the extra time preparing some decent grub for him. He has also stopped drinking a litre of water a day. Gaz

Didnt get chance to watch this video the other day, Ive started doing something very similar, I will post below the notes i made, just to highlight how easy it can be and how it doesnt have to cost the earth... 2 Weeks of Raw... 200g Celery, 100g Spinach Leaves 5 Carrots, 2 Apples - £2.00 (Veg sources will vary from batch to batch) 12 x Bags Butchers Scraps @ 35p - £4.20 (these are basically 400g bags of scraps from the butchers, mainly steak off cuts, beef mince offal, chicken breasts, lamb pieces etc) Half a Bag of Tesco Brown Rice @ £1.20 – 60p 800g Pack of Green

so i got my chicken carcasses.........
Gaz_1989 replied to armchair _hunter's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
I used to be terrified about feeding raw. After watching my 12 week old pup swallow 4 x whole chicken wings and regurgitate them I started to relax. I think it's pretty rare that a dog chokes on raw bones. Try a breast of lamb first, they seem a little softer and go down well. This might improve your confidence with raw feeding? Gaz -
Is it true that if the things aren't yours then they can't confiscate? For example if it was a company car and dog was chipped and insured to someone else? Gaz
-
Out of interest, why do you feed the kibble meal once a week? Cheers Gaz
-
Fair play fella, Its wrong when lads give you grief for "starting to early". If a farmer asked me go out tonight, i would be out, because if you dont then some bugger else will.
-
A pair of them regattas and a pair of Wellys for a wet night Lamping should see you good. Gaz
-
Alright Mike. I've had a pair of Regatta boots for 18 months and for the money (£20) they have been sound. They are just falling apart now after being worn daily, jogged in them, mooched in them, shooting and fishing etc. I am looking at getting a pair of Lowa Combat GTX now as I want something higher up and with a better sole and that will hopefully last a few seasons. What a fantastic looking animal she was. RIP and sorry for your loss. -
Surely if you fed ferrets on ONLY whole prey items such as rabbit, pigeon, day old chicks, mice etc then this would replicate a natural diet and be lacking in nothing? Gaz
-
Can you stick a price list up mate and more pics? I'm interested in T-Shirt, Jumper and Jacket in XL. Gaz
-
Cheers for reply. I gave them a bowl yesterday and they loved it. There crap is about as runny as always and just a bit darker. They will be getting plenty of the stuff from now on, along with day old chicks Gaz

I've got a load of horse meat in the freezer, it's quality meat, minced, very little fat. It goes straight through the dogs if fed raw on it's own so I've been cooking it up with some veg and rice. Is it likely to mess with the ferrets guts aswell or do you think they will stomach it okay? Thanks Gaz
-
Thanks alot for the input lads, very helpful. Is there much difference between mountain combat and hunter? Cheers Gaz
-
Cheers lads. They do sound like a top boot. Any idea how long you could realistally expect these to last? Worn daily, probably 2 hours walking in the morning mostly lane walking with a bit of mooching, then in season Lamping 3 times a week in obvious conditions, muddy, wet, snow etc. Will you get a few seasons out of them? Cheers Gaz
