  1. As above, lamb fat is great. Breast of lamb is a good meal. Tripe seems to go down well with most dogs too.
  2. Your not wrong there chap. So many people seem to think throwing the dog a chicken carcass is all that's required. I think if there was more info about highlighting how easy it CAN be then more would feed this way. Gaz
  3. Drop the mixer, the poor bugger must be right constipated on just carcass. Get some raw veg, cookwd brown rice, fatty meat, offal etc. Do a search in the "working dog health and training" section. There have been some very thorough posts of late and ive put what I feed my dogs up twice. All the best. Gaz
  4. Like the sound of these. Would probably go 3/4 whippet 1/4 bull I think.
  5. Is the dog on the left a full whippet moll? Awesome looking dogs by the way.
  6. What sort of height are these bull whippets?
  7. Maybe try feeding a rack of lamb ribs? My dog gets a few a week and he really has to rip and tear at these giving the mouth a real clean I imagine. He doesn't do this with Chicken, it's just a few crunches and swallowed. Just an idea. Gaz
  8. Cheers for replies. I don't doubt there's a difference and they arent ideal. But being short of cash and feeding MOSTLY raw I was thinking they may be okay. Gaz
  9. theferreter - Why? ferret100 - why is dog food no use to a ferret? The nutrients is still present. Granted, too low in protein, but they get a raw meal of some description daily. Rabbit, Chicks, Chicken Wings, Horse Meat etc. the one - your correct that ferrets have a faster digestive tract, but i dont think ferret biscuits are made any differently to dog biscuits are they? Rake - Cheers. As you say the biscuits are there just as a side offering in case they get peckish inbetween raw meals, and i know they like to nibble 24/7 so thats what the dry food will be there for. I didnt th
  10. If feeding a diet of predominantly raw food for the ferrets then would it still be a bad idea to feed dog biscuits instead of ferret biscuits. Purely cost cutting. I feed them day old chicks, rabbit, horse meat etc every evening and sometimes through the day aswell and like to leave a bowl of dry food down for them 24/7. Is it unhealthy to feed dog biscuits? I was told it is too low in protein alone but thought that maybe with the amount of raw food and how little dry they eat then it might be okay? Gaz

  12. Born In Scotland, is it true that you have got 11 dogs, 9 of them have jacked on rabbits but been kept to use as sex toys? The other 2 were from dogs trust. Just what I got told in a PM

  14. I like the sound of this cross and wouldn't mind seeing some half cross and 1/4 cross. I've heard they are exceptionally quick off the mark and hard as nails. Should make decent lamp dogs and also tackle bigger stuff I expect. What sort of height do they throw?
  15. Good luck chap. I'm looking forward to ferreting with my kits and pup this season. Will be a first for me
  16. Potentially a good read... Youve told us in great detail about the coffee, the cigarettes, your hunting partners bootsize and the turns in the road. Just missed out the bit about the hunting :-( Gaz
  17. BIS you sound like a cock end. Who are you to call another mans dogs second rate? What does this mean? And you say yours are "more than good enough". Good enough at what and according to who? If a lad has got a couple of ferreting dogs and is happy with them then why shouldn't he breed them? You might not like them or rate them as wank but so what. What's it gotta do with anyone? If people spent a bit more time looking after there own dogs and trying to do right by them instead if worrying about what everyone else is doing then the lurcher world would be a better place. Ju
  18. I can remember setting "traps" in the garden as a kid. Used to use an old cage with a stick lodging the door open. Never caught a bean, lol. Then I remember getting my first air rifle on my 14th birthday. A Jaguar .177 which must of been older than my dad. I used to take corvids every weekend on my mates grandads land. I always had dogs as a kid, by the time I was into the air rifle we had an EBT that I used to take ratting and to be fair he was quite good. When he was PTS I started asking for a lurcher, I wanted a Beddy Whippet and searched the Countrymans Weekly every week only
  19. How do the 1/4 beddys do as all rounders? Preferably beddy/whip x greyhound to bring the size up a tad. Gaz
  20. That would imply that a 7/8 greyhound 1/8 collie is not a lurcher which it clearly is. Any sighthound crossed with any herding/terrier type dog Is my interpretation. But similarly a 7/8 terrier 1/8 whippet could be called lurcher and would clearly be a terrier so it's all bollox. Lol. Gaz
  21. Haha. Thanks for reply Lee. At what age can you get them done?
  22. Thanks for the replies and PMs. The Poley is deffinitely the boss and the others dont challenge him which is why i thought i MAY be able to get one of the albinos to live happily with him but maybe this could all change when they come of age. Cheers Gaz
