  1. Just talking to a friend and was wondering if the dog was alive or not ?
  2. Nonesense if your gonna get caught poaching your going to get caught,if your that worried take up fly ball its safer. dimmer switches and filters are a load of bollox if your good enough on a lamp and got knowledge and field craft you'll catch the gear. As regards new lamps and equipment why not if your in the job buy the best quality you can afford, Iv had lithium battery for 3 years now, and I find it ridiculous people still buy stone age heavy battery's.
  3. Never ever use the r.s.p.c.a. as a hunting man I'd keep my nose out and concentrate on Keeping my own dogs fit and healthy.
  4. There's a lot of hard men on this site, I'm scared case I ever bump into any of them! going round knocking every 1 under the sun out at the drop of a hat I'm glad there all safely behind there key boards. The real world seems much safer to me.
  5. Rang the r.s.p.c.a !! Worse organisation under the sun. Theres one rule youv not followed there and that makes you a. GRASS.
  6. You cant make a Ferrari out of pig iron. Do you think wasting all your wages on food for a Lurcher will bring you a champion in the field? It's in the breeding and a bit of luck not in a bag of over priced biscuits. as long as a pups got fairly decent food in front of it so it makes the size that's good enough,
  7. Most people who keep lurchers nower days keep them as pets and show and racing dogs. If I see a dog I wanted to buy I'd take it on trial. If you know your working Lurcher you should know by watching a dog run if he's what you want. The fact is most people buy a puppy and whether it's up to the grade or not they keep it as there "for ever pet", and that's why the average Lurcher laying on people's sofas is a million miles away from a top doer. I've fetched on all but 1 of the lurchers I've had in the last 5 years from 6 weeks old i breed some myself so I'm bye no means someone who w
  8. How much did that cost to find out? If anyone would have deared suggest youd be best to do that from the out set they would have come in for all manner of stick. It's hard enough to end up with quaility stock from healthy animals and a sight harder from crippled ones.
  9. Its nothing to do with me what other lads do, I couldn't care less. To say that hunting rabbits this time of year means none in winter is not accurate at all, sure you may educate them to the lamp by the season starts ,but its a well known fact that the least effective time to control rabbits is Summer. The rabbits will compensate for the losses by breeding more youngsters. Also last year on my land by the middle of winter most the rabbit population disappeared due to disease almost over night so I wished I'd had more sport at harvest time.
  10. Ian Briggs he is chief inspector shit house. I hope he is constantly looking over his shoulder and wakes up in the middle of the night worried about lads bumping into him he's got animal bans on. Obviously I wish this lovely gentleman no harm personally.
  11. No they have got no real power with out the police. There lies the problem the police back them to the hilt! Unlike the police they have no one to regulate them, they are 1 of the richest charity's in britian so all ways use the best lawyers , the most up to date forensic techniques and don't mind lying. The SCUM that are the r.s.p.c.a use money left by old girls in there will to look after stray cats to take hunting men's libertys and human rights away.
  12. Did the dog injure itself last year? A fella said his owner wanted a match I sorted out a man too run him and "teves" has an injury!? Strange as it turns out butthe man who was going to run him owns his father bill, and had never even herd of tevez, neither did his previous owner kelvin, who must have put the dog to fettle?!
  13. It sounds dramatic but every working dog man, bird keeper and many other enthusiasts that keep animals as part of a hoby should think like they are at war with the r.s.p.c.a because the end agenda is for no animals to be kept for any kind of work from racing pigeons to riding Ponys. Twice in the case in question the defendants were compared to pedophiles by the prosecuting barrister because they admitted gaining enjoyment from viewing hunting and images of hunting. As iv said this was a prosecution fetched by the police but This is the nonsense the r.s.p.c.a pedal to the public to dem
  14. The good news is the more you walk/work saluki lurchers the more they want to be walked or worked, if you don't walk them they'll wine, if the ice cream man comes round thell howl, when you walk another dog and don't walk them thell how'll and wine. No worse dog for it I find. I don't even know I've got deerhound lurchers there so quite in kennels, but the saluki is a highly strung annoying hound to kennel. But then are they absolute supreme athlete in the Lurcher world and as a running/staying dog nothing else comes close. So get a canine calm collar or just ignore it and reap t
  15. What I put has got mixed up with the quote I was talking about if some one can detangle you can see my point! ( it's the bit in smaller print )
  16. I'm sure you all rember the country file raid on telly? Rember were that cocky R.S.P.C.A chief inspecter Ian Briggs said I'm confident of a prosecution in this matter. Well that was one of the defendants in this case!!! Now get on and give the lad he's dogs back and repair his kennels you smashed in at the same time. While your at it give his dogs a nice warm soapy bath CRAVAN you anti sh*t house.
  17. From the defendents who are all paid up members of the c.s.a could i please thank the alliance for distancing them selves from the case due to it being associated with badgers and Lurcher and terrier men thank you for hanging them out to dry, I find it hard to beleive youd take the same approach to a registered fox pack accused under the hunting act, I don't think you'll be getting your renawel fee next year!!!! All costs incurred including the defence case bar 1 of the defendants who was granted legal aid has to be paid for by the losing Prosection side, which in turn is payed for by the
  18. Represented by Clive Rees but he couldn't attend in person ( very complicated ). 4 day trial and a took 7 months to get to court. Costs include helicopter, impoundment of a four wheel drive truck for 7 months ( est £5000+) police occumpanied raids by r.s.p.c.a on 3 seperate houses, legal fees, reports and investigations from so called Badger expert Mr Cantwelll from Naturall England. Wages for 3 police officers who sat in the public gallery for 3 days in uniform after giving evidence and being free to leave court. All payed for by the British tax payer. A case based almost inti

All 6 found Not guilty on all 3 charges. Shown beyond reasonable doubt to be carrying out legal FOX control to protect game birds on permission. Report should be in country mans weekly next week.
  20. If your dog can run it can run, what does it matter exactlie how its breed or who it's great, great, great aunts cousin was breed out of? I know what the dogs I had were breed from, but it can be boring when coursing men recite the exact breeding of every dog that ever drew breath since the saluki landed on these shores all most anerackish. Just say there merlin and eve stuff every one else does and theve been dead that long the writings wore of there grave stones!! Or out of Charlie that's a favourite too, sorry out of a dog out of a dog from the Charlie dog put to a bitch that had
  21. I'm not relating this to the article In the cmw. Just a question to someone deciding what Lurcher pup to chose mainly for this task.
  22. I'm not a fox man as I said but here is a question to those who are. If when legal you went out to purposely target the fox and you had the choice of using big strong dog or a small lighter dog. Do you consider the speed at which the kill is carried out and limiting the damage inflicted to the Lurcher in the process.? Do you not owe it to the pray to use the dog that will have the size to end the job quickly? We know a small dog can do it, just the same that a .22 bullet rifle " can " cleanly fell a large fallow deer, but It can also cause wounding and suffering. So you by law need
  23. Not wanting to take the lime light from Mrs taylor but.. As I said I didn't put it up as a personal insult there was also another article regarding coursing and many more articles like it week In week out.. 1. When doing an article on breeding the ideal coursing Lurcher the saluki wasn't even given as an option.! 2. A first cross deerhound greyhound isn't "fast enough". For coursing That's not true, there not the best coursing dogs but are plenty fast enough to pressure and kill at least the odd strong hare. What I was saying is you shouldn't comment unless you have experienc
