    Nonesense if your gonna get caught poaching your going to get caught,if your that worried take up fly ball its safer. dimmer switches and filters are a load of bollox if your good enough on a lamp and got knowledge and field craft you'll catch the gear. As regards new lamps and equipment why not if your in the job buy the best quality you can afford, Iv had lithium battery for 3 years now, and I find it ridiculous people still buy stone age heavy battery's.

    Most people who keep lurchers nower days keep them as pets and show and racing dogs. If I see a dog I wanted to buy I'd take it on trial. If you know your working Lurcher you should know by watching a dog run if he's what you want. The fact is most people buy a puppy and whether it's up to the grade or not they keep it as there "for ever pet", and that's why the average Lurcher laying on people's sofas is a million miles away from a top doer.     How much did that cost to find out? If anyone would have deared suggest youd be best to do that from the out set they would have come in for all manner of stick. It's hard enough to end up with quaility stock from healthy animals and a sight harder from crippled ones.

    Its nothing to do with me what other lads do, I couldn't care less. To say that hunting rabbits this time of year means none in winter is not accurate at all, sure you may educate them to the lamp by the season starts ,but its a well known fact that the least effective time to control rabbits is Summer. The rabbits will compensate for the losses by breeding more youngsters. Also last year on my land by the middle of winter most the rabbit population disappeared due to disease almost over night so I wished I'd had more sport at harvest time.

    No they have got no real power with out the police. There lies the problem the police back them to the hilt!     It sounds dramatic but every working dog man, bird keeper and many other enthusiasts that keep animals as part of a hoby should think like they are at war with the r.s.p.c.a because the end agenda is for no animals to be kept for any kind of work from racing pigeons to riding Ponys.     The good news is the more you walk/work saluki lurchers the more they want to be walked or worked, if you don't walk them they'll wine, if the ice cream man comes round thell howl, when you walk another dog and don't walk them thell how'll and wine.     From the defendents who are all paid up members of the c.s.a could i please thank the alliance for distancing them selves from the case due to it being associated with badgers and Lurcher and terrier men thank you for hanging them out to dry, I find it hard to beleive youd take the same approach to a registered fox pack accused under the hunting act, I don't think you'll be getting your renawel fee next year!!!! Costs include helicopter, impoundment of a four wheel drive truck for 7 months ( est £5000+) police occumpanied raids by r.s.p.c.a on 3 seperate houses, legal fees, reports and investigations from so called Badger expert Mr Cantwelll from Naturall England.     at ********* magistrate court today. 6 defendants accused of 3 charges relating to the badgers act 1.disturbing a set. 2. Entering terriers to badgers 3. Will fully killing a badger. All 6 found Not guilty on all 3 charges. Shown beyond reasonable doubt to be carrying out legal FOX control to protect game birds on permission. Report should be in country mans weekly next week.

    I'm not a fox man as I said but here is a question to those who are. If when legal you went out to purposely target the fox and you had the choice of using big strong dog or a small lighter dog. Do you consider the speed at which the kill is carried out and limiting the damage inflicted to the Lurcher in the process.? Do you not owe it to the pray to use the dog that will have the size to end the job quickly? As I said I didn't put it up as a personal insult there was also another article regarding coursing and many more articles like it week In week out.. 1. When doing an article on breeding the ideal coursing Lurcher the saluki wasn't even given as an option.! 2. A first cross deerhound greyhound isn't "fast enough".
