    where do you think you can find this mythical working greyhound ? so as a pup a man goes and gives good money for a well breed super fast greyhound pup. Then when its twelve months run it at hares ( youd get laugthed of the feild when it burns out ) rabbits ( it struggles to stay in the same feild when it turns ) and fox, deer and whatever else ( a purpose breed lurcher would be a far better investment for this ). no one would bother. the only ones about are failed or slow track dogs that someone re trained and uses which is good in itself but then there not the best greyhounds.     Do not try and insult my intelligence and say that ex track greyhounds make decent workers they will not have the wind that an average lurcher would have ...Ive seen fit greyhound saturated lurchers have nothing left to the point of dropping and imo they had done very little compared to the lurchers that were still fresh and had plenty left in the tank you sound very narrow minded dont bother asking a question if you dont want or dont like the answer. 1. worker to worker? that is a greyhounds work running round a track, if you didnt notice theres no coursing for greyhounds now and eve

    theres a leggy blue rougth coated one running on lurchermania. looked handy eneougth for what it was doing. Id say thed be about a million times better than a bedlington whippets at everything apart from catching mice.

I had the little bitch out of these two litters ( coming on in size now too ) and shes firie like trevors runt. personally I think her mother looked a fair dog on the greyhound database and for what I want her for Im not bothered about a long distance greyhound Id prefur earlie pace. my own strain of saluki cross lurchers run all day and night and if my deerhound lurcher runs at rabbit and hare it will only be for fun and a bit of a test now and again.     if you hunt rabbit all year thell be lamp shire all year round and you and the farmer might think your catching more but in reality the most effective time is autum and winter. Iv got heaps of permission and thats pest control, BUT Im a sports man too and iv educated my land owners to realise this they know when the times correct Ill be hard at the rabbit and thell be fit for my pot too unlike milkers fit for the ferret hutch ! !

    i never said he did not breed some good dogs cos he did but what people was ? is the way they was bred :whistling: he said they was not one bit of saluki in her the cream bitch on the right its irish lady yet she could stay on longer then my half saluki if your talking about the bitch with the white face not having saluki in her, my bitch is the double of that I breed her and theres plenty in her the sister that my brothers got is feathered and slightlie wolly coated. !

    I`de say that a good Airedale X will offer all a good Bull X can offer, I.E. Bone/strenth, prey drive, Brains..!!! size, with the added bonus of good coat, and the ability to be able to take your dog out in public without Knowing looks from Antis and even other lurcher owners, who most believe that a Bull X is only good for one thing and all their owners are Knuckle draging chavs....     watch any weak or old dogs I lost my old bitch when it developed into phnominia she was 10, my younger dogs shock it off no probs. I thought she wae getting old and staying in her kennel away from the cold and I noticed her to late and she died.

    stay lamping mate! The coursing jobs finnished dont waste your money its all cloak and dagger stuff Nnow creping aboout trying to run a dog ! I wouldnt give £200 for a top gambling pup cause you cant gamble with them. you take ten of you out on a match and the one bet you can have is a hellicopter will turn up a summons all hit your door mat and thell want your licence and or moter. the hare courser is loaved more than the house breaker by the Police in England.

    Its not good to keep a dog fit all year round thats a fact. I boxed and had 70 bouts my brothers have boxed and won multipul national titles (thats right I wernt as good) so I know a bit about conditioning, its all about PEAKS AND TROUGHS you rest is as inportant as work. if you maintain a level off fitness your dog will run flat an animal should be rested till mid - end july then gradually built up and up till at a peak. rabbits and hares arent fit in the summer there resting and your dogs fitness should match that of your quarie building to winter!     now the serious business of the show season is upon us iv started getting my lurchers fit. 1. Is 3 miles a day going to get a dog looking in tip top nick for the ring or shall I up it to 5 ? 2. can anyonne recomended a good dog shampoo to give there coat that special winning shine ? 3. what is the best way to train my dogs to chase a bed sheet in the racing ? 4.     my mate went through heaps of doubled up rubbish dogs that couldnt keep doing the job till he found a 21 inch dog "NIGER" he was too hard on the little dog really but he was so game hed always run in and do his job whether he done 1 the night before or not. and therd be no need to help the little dog infanct arch said he took more punishment if doubled due to the other dog not wanting to be at the business end and poor niger getting the fox on his face tugged from the arse end while it had a grip on him.
