what has the waterloo cup got to do with lurchers? two big clumbsy greyhounds knocking a hare about for a minnit? if you want to kill big numbers of fox buy yourself a rifle and a shot gun. Im no expert on foxing but if theres two of you out with a good fox dog each lamping you can still take as many if you run each dog single. ie 6 doubled up or 3 runs a peice single handed. If you kept running an experience hare coursing dog doubled up so it never got tested youd get ridiculed. deerhound x greyhound 1st cross 6 months next week 21 ish at the shoulder was a bit of a runt when I got her 5 weeks ago she was 17.5 so im pleased with her progress. im expecting 25 when shes done still plenty of knuckle and feet to grow into. Not a giant for a first cross but as long as shes got a big heart shell do me. -

5000 and 10,000 for a lurcher THE JOBS FINNISHED when will people see it. watched a few old matchs on you tube today, was Melish and davis and others from late 80s earlie 90s it was like a football crowed watching the matchs. That must have been the bollox 1 of your dogs running infront of a crowed like that and just being there. Truefully has any proper coursing men been out on a match this year with 10 or more people there with out helicopters being out and lads hauled before the courts and lads losing licences? coursing is no 1 priortie in cambridgeshire infront of child abusers

not really, depends on various things, my main ferreting dog is 25.5 inches and weighs 31kg and he is an asset ferreting. The bitch I'm bringing on is 24 inches and 24 kilos and she isn't what you'd call stocky mine are 24 and 23 and there both about 18 kilos carrying a bit so id say that sounds stocky to me.

its up to you if you want to run hares this time of year, but dont put a picture up like its an achievment because its not. like when iv seen on here before when people say "had a good day with the lurchers" and then put a pic up of three or four rabbits infront of the dogs then when you look at them close theve got mixy! ! iv killed the odd milker by accident or come across a puffy eyed poor rabbit, but to put pics up

nice type that is for ferreting and lamping trev. Green grass had a bed whippet and thats why most people keep them as a novelty. too small for a hard night lamping and a pure whippet will do as good a job at ferreting. Putting a bedlington over a whippet brings nothing to the table except a wolly jacket that gets water looged. use a greyhound and youll get a faster stronger and more robbust lurcher that will ferret lamp and has the size to over come bigger quarrie quicker taking less cosh.

to be honest I assumed you ment droppers. 8 month pup could struggle on lamp on clued up rabbits. its a shame its illeagle to do droppers.

What ever is the point of larging it up about having a dog running fast in a strait line ? ? iv never known a rabbit, hare, fox or deer that runns in a strait line! see if your pretend greyhound can stay tight when the real life quarrie does turn. Any more speed than is needed to get on terms is a waste. if you want a fast dog take up greyhound racing ! if you want a pretty dog and a rosset start showing poodles!

he would be a good dog its march, how can you want a match this time of year ? ? if a does filled with young can you count the unbourn kits in the score ? iv got fair dogs at that job but if I can help it I let the rabbit and hare breed.

shes young just keep running the rabbits, she get sick of them keep running into the hedges after a while and at least pick them up. iv never had a dog from my saluki lurchers that wouldnt chase and strike it should be natural but some have better mouths than others.

Trevor cooks in sunderland breeds 1 x deerhounds and im fairly sure he breeds pure breed deerhounds as well. hes stuff is what used to be doxhope what bill and john doherty breed but Bill dont keep them no more and trevor bought all his stock a few years ago and added other working deerhound blood. there called "COOK LAND deerhounds" trevors on here now hes called cooklands or something similar. lucky was only anygood on the fens. MYTH Tommy b matched him round my way years ago. Archie was there helping spoting for his uncle tommy. arch told me 1,2,3 dog was the best dog they ever matched and they matched the best nuttal included. One of the hares got up and run towards a horse paddock, they couldnt beleive it when marcus slipped on the hare let alone whe lucky jumped the fence and boxed and killed his hare inside it. why crab a dog just because on video hes seen on the fen.
